T+a dac 200
I'm very seriously considering upgrading to a new T+A DAC 200. From the research I've done so far and speaking to a number of dealers, it seems like the ideal next upgrade for my system.
Just thought I'd pick the collective Audioshark brain to see if anyone had any strong feelings for the brand, or even more specifically, the device itself.
Thanks.
FYI, I would like to use it with the optional HDMI module installed to take advantage of my SACD transport.Electronics: Pass Labs XP-22, Pass Labs X250.8

Re: T+a dac 200
I have not heard it personally but a reviewer I know said it was very good, best he has heard under $10k, but who knows what's in the group he has, heard
There was something about the other piece, I think it can be used with the 200, that was not liked and sent back, maybe a render/streamer.
Randy appears to have had good luck with the DAC 8 and likes it a great deal.Aurender ACS10 w/Audioquest Diamond USB,

Re: T+a dac 200
I am not the only member who has a T+A and says great things about them. I do love my DAC 8 DSD and feel it is better than any of the number of DACs I have tried. Granted, not many were higher priced models. It is especially good if you love DSD as I do. I can only imagine that the DAC 200 is even better.

Re: T+a dac 200
The USB input, does it need power from the USB cable, or is the power coming from the dac itself?

Re: T+a dac 200
There is a USB-B input, presumably from a device outputting a digital signal over a USB-A -> USB-B (such as a streamer). This does not require power. There is also a USB-A slot, but based on the manual, it looks like it is simply a 5V charging port, not a way to connect a thumb drive.

If that usb input input does not require power from the cable it is great. In that case it is possible to cut the power line in the USB cable for a better result.
