Squeeze Box Owners : Please, Please, Please...
Hello folks,
Please.... Change this crappy stock 12V SPS !
Not only they affect the quality of the sound in a significant way but they also add noise to the system.
When they are slowly dying, you can hear very distinctly little pops and ticks appearing about 1 second apart, when no music is playing and you raise the volume high on the preamp. And no matter which input is selected. Even if you are not on the SB input ! The pollution induced is on the main line.
I use on all my systems a linear power supply. Mine is from Mains Cables 'R Us. ( MCRUS ). Other companies offer this kind of upgrade for the SB.
Not cheap. About 300 euros in Europe.
But really really "mandatory".

I agree Jerome. I use a linear power supply from Bolder Cable Co. (no longer in business) on my Duet with great results.

You should ask your dealer to bring the CH stuff he wants to sell you for home audition in your system. IMO there is no way to tell what will sound better in your system.
