Re: PF on Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC
Absolutely.
I haven't done direct comparisons, but I heard very familiar tunes through this DAC, on various occasions, during long sessions, with speakers I know well (Vivid Audio).
Best DAC I've heard with these speakers and electronics.
My dealer, who I trust, told me he has 2 clients who compared the Tambaqui with their components.
First had top line Soulution (700 series), second Wadia (series 9).
Both went for a Tambaqui after the demo.Vivid Audio - Burmester - Hegel - Marantz - Oppo - Pioneer 60" - Wireworld

Re: PF on Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC
The guys over on the other forum that specializes in measurements of audio components reviewed the Tambaqui earlier this year and found it to be one of the best measured DACs they'd tested overall. They don't provide listening impressions of any kind in most cases, but it's interesting to see a high end product that both measures well and reportedly sounds good. Too many of the expensive DACs they've tested over there have not measured well. Often it's attributed to poor or non-existent engineering or an attempt to color the sound in some way. This review shows that it's possible to have good objective measurements and good subjective sound, which is frankly a little refreshing.
