Networking for audiophiles
Small Green Computer made a 2021 AXPONA presentation on this topic. Very clear. Very simple and straightforward. Answered nearly all the questions I had about Ethernet, CAT vs optical Ethernet, effect of better linear power supplies and more. HIGHLY recommended!

Andrew presented a great basic description of how the network is applied for audio. I will definitely share it with a few friends and family that have asked me how it all works.
I am a SGC owner and highly recommend them. I use an i9 SonicTransporter and UltraRendu in my system. Moving to it form a laptop was a major step up in sound quality and ease of use.Synology 1019D+ - SGC Sonictransporter I9 w Roon/HQ Player- UltraRendu- PBD Stream IF to Playback Designs MPS5 via fiber optic - ARC 40th Anniversary Pre - ARC 610 T's - Martin Logan CLX's - 4 Martin Logan Depth i Subs - Shunyata Hydra, DIY PCOCC interconnects, speaker cables and power cords with Furutech terminations. Blue Jean CAT 6's between front end equipment.
LHY FMC and Corning Fiber to rebuilt LHY SW-6 switch in listening room.
Acoustically treated room with one permanent chair.

Anything will sound better when moving from streaming off a general purpose laptop. I try to tell people that anytime I can, but for some reason my comments are always met with stiff resistance from folks in the name of science. 😂😂
