Network Acoustics Eno Streaming System
Next level in sound quality, a passive network filter
Better then the audio network switches known so far. Think I will sell my almost brand new Bonn Linns for this one. A step forward in network streaming. Anyone tested this filter already?

Re: Network Acoustics Eno Streaming System
Hans did a thorough review, but personally, I'm not a fan of putting anything with chokes, coils, or inductors into a digital signal path.

Re: Network Acoustics Eno Streaming System
Stephen,
Why would you focus on chokes and filters in this device as things you don’t like? There are dozens of things in everyone of our pieces of equipment. Who cares as long as the SQ gets better?
I hope to see more of these devices make it into the wild so we hear more reviews. While I think Hans B is a straight shooter, I would like to read more reviews from others with differing systems. They are pricey.

Re: Network Acoustics Eno Streaming System
I have had the Acoustic Networks ENO ag bundle for about a week and its has made a worthwhile improvement to my sound. More density, less electronic glaze, better tonality and detail. Easy to hear. I first swapped the in Acoustic Network cable and that made a noticeable difference without the filter, and then I added the ENO filter. The sound has fleshed out even more, with very nice harmonic improvement. So you can count me in the yes column. I also own an ethernet regen (about 6 months). I think it's a very good product too. It improved PRAT, imaging and texture. I saw Han's you tube review so I have only used the ENO on the 'A" side of ER. That seems to be a good combo so far. I have not tried the ENO on 'B" side yet which Hans suggested was subtractive. I have no opinion on that point. FYI - setup is Orbi Satellite and one meter runs between ER, Nucleus+ and Rossini DAC, transparent ethernet is the other cable, (and LPS's on Satellite, Nucleus and ER). I was so impressed with the Acoustic Networks ag cable that I have two more 1 meter runs coming.

Re: Network Acoustics Eno Streaming System
Hi Craig,
You raise some relevant points. Certainly we have chokes, coils, and inductors in our various components, notably choke filters in the power supplies of various amps, etc., and certainly, the inductors in crossovers in speakers.
But, I'm not a fan of them in power distributors or as "RF or EMI filters" for digital interfaces.

Re: Network Acoustics Eno Streaming System
I also have the ENOag and agree with TVB’s assessment. It reduced the noise floor improving dynamics and harmonic articulation of the music. I perceived no negative affect. I also have the ER and only use the A side into the ENO which connects directly to my DAC. The A side is superior to just using my Pakedge switch alone. I am using a Keyes P8 to power the ER. I found the B side changed the tonal balance somewhat, over emphasizing mids and upper bass and limiting upper range and deep lower bass. I ordered the EdisCreation Silent OCXO switch and will experiment with that switch and the ER.

Re: Network Acoustics Eno Streaming System
Agreed markramler. Alan Sircom has a very favorable review of the ENOag in the current issue of hi-fi+. He says "...ENO is one of the best things you can do to your audio system if you are streaming..."
I am interested in experimenting with switches too, I had not heard of the EdisCreation as an option. I will be interested to know what you think of it.

Re: Network Acoustics Eno Streaming System
So, just trying to sort this out...
For the streaming system, the ENO Ag cable attaches to your router/ethernet connection/switch and runs to the ENO filter box, then a cable from the ENO box runs to your streamer?Kevin

Re: Network Acoustics Eno Streaming System
Yes exactly right. I ideally starting with a switch and the ENO ag bundle is a short 1.5 meter run directly to your source (dac or streamer).

Yes, the Keces P8 powers my Roon Nucleus and ER. The P8 is on a dedicated AC line with a TA Gen 5 power cord. A better power cord made a significant improvement in sound. I use Ghent Audio Gotham DC cables which were an improvement over stock. I have only used the ER and Nuc with the Keces.Main system- Wilson Alexia 1, Lamm M1.2, VTL TL-7.5iii, Lamm LP2, Spiral Groove SG 1.2/Centriod, Lyra Etna, Antipodes K50, Aqua Formula xHD, Transparent G5 XL signal cables, Transparent Opus/XL G5, Clarus Crimison HC and Snake River Signature Amp power cables,Sablon Audio AES/EBU and ethernet cables, EdisCreation BD DC cables and Adona Corp rack.

Re: Network Acoustics Eno Streaming System
Yeah, those Keces power supplies are great. I use mine for my SOtM SMS-200 UltraNeo network bridge with a Ghent Gotham DC cable.
Yeah, those Gotham cables from Ghent are the best DC cables I've used, they won't pass leakage current. Actually, I need to order one with a 2.5mm ID DC barrel plug; the one I'm using for my ER is 2.1mm and it won't fit in the Keces; I'd like to try using the Keces for it, as you have.
Cheers.

Re: Network Acoustics Eno Streaming System
BTW, just for edification of the gang, the Eno is an RF filter for Ethernet cables; if you are using a run of optical in your system, e.g. with a Gigafoil or Optical Module or ER with SFP/optical transceiver, you won't need it. It's function is to mitigate RF that can pass in copper Ethernet.
And, as the Eno costs about $1435, you can put together an optical solution for quite a bit less money than buying an Eno.
Cheers.

Re: Network Acoustics Eno Streaming System
Puma - not trying to be difficult but you seem very against the Eno? Have you tried? Ive always admired your posts as you seem to have quite an open mind. But on this product it doesn't seem to be the case.
Based on this thread i bought one last week. It was delivered yesterday and i have to be honest, straight out of the box it made a difference and sounded better to my ears.... and my digital system is quite good and quite tweaked .....

Re: Network Acoustics Eno Streaming System
I'm not against it at all. What it does is prevent passage of a noise factor that has an audible impact. It's just that there are other ways to accomplish exactly the same thing it is doing; stopping the passage of RF on copper Ethernet. Less expensive ways. These less expensive ways also don't allow the passage of high-source leakage impedance current to pass, as well, which the Eno does not mitigate.
If you're happy with yours, that's great. My perspective is you don't need to spend 1400 bucks to obtain the benefit it provides.

Re: Network Acoustics Eno Streaming System
Don't know where "1400 bucks" is coming from. ENO is about 800 USD Products – Network Acoustics and doesn't require power. By the time one adds Keces or simiiar, plus maybe an aftermarket PC, to a Gigafoil or similar, one is at $800 or more.

Re: Network Acoustics Eno Streaming System
The ENO bundle -cable and filter cost me $1150 US. From my perspective of actually using it, as opposed to hypothesizing about it, feel it was definitely worth it.

TVB
I received my EdisCreation switch today and replaced the ER and connected my Pakedge switch back to the Keces P8. I was stunned at the immediate improvement in the sound. The music was much more dynamic, with better extension and harmonic articulation. I will wait a few days for the EC to break-in and replace the Pakedge with the ER (A side) to connect to the EC.

Mark, glad to hear it turned out well. Those xlr type Ethernet connections on the ediscreation look stout. Im looking forward to hearing more from you. I was thinking about the melcos100 because I could leverage my Illuminati lps with it.

Re: Network Acoustics Eno Streaming System
I just wanted to point out that RJ 45 sockets in Ethernet devices such as routers and switches have isolating transformers at their inputs and outputs, which are made from coils of wire, and some more advanced switches have chokes, or inductors. So you can’t get away from them.

I upgraded the power supply on my Gigafoil v4 to a Weiss PSU 102. It’s very nice step up. But with the new model, you’re looking at $2000 before even investing in a SOTA linear power supply.
