    meridian director dac

Hi everyone, my first post in this forum,

I am able to buy a meridian director dac Have some questions about this one, Think I need a good dac between my yamaha network player and Marantz stereo amplifier to reduce jitter and time smearing.

    1. do I need a pre-amp? If that is the case a Pro-ject prebox analog S2 would be considered, which will be connected to the end receiver
    2. Is MQA supported?

I cancelled this deal, sadly no MQA support. Looking further for another dac

The Director DAC was a pretty hot budget item years ago, but certainly quite long in the tooth now, given how fast the digital world moves. It predates the announcement of MQA.

I missed this one, very interesting, because it can be used as dac, I can use it as streamer and pre amp. This is absolutely worth it considering

In the meantime I found some alternative dacs

    - The mytek brooklyn, and if some money is left book the sbooster power supply
    - The aurelic G1/G2
    - the Teac UD-503 / NT-503

Thanks for adding this Meridian 218 to the list, I will go to an audio shop soon for listening
