I've been checking out the Naim gear. I am very impressed by what I read.
 
Worst thing is that to get the most from the NDS you need 2 555PS power supplies and they're $9,500 ish a piece which gets to be a very expensive digital system. The plus side is that down the road the power supplies can be used over again - like me, I already had the 2 power supplies that I had used on their CD player.

I priced out a full blown Naim set up and nearly fainted. I thought some of the gear I was interested in was expensive. Nothing like top of the line Naim.

The Marantz NA11S1 won the EISA (European Imaging and Sound Association) Digital Audio Player for 2013-2014.

It is absolute bs what naim charge for their power supplies, but , then again, that is yesterdays story :fingers:
 
I found out that Buffalo Techonology has NAS product which supports DSD streaming via ethernet and they have DAC compatibility list where Marantz NA11S1 is in that list.

I would like to know if anyone already successfully stream DSD files to NA11S1 via ethernet.
I am considering to buy a network streamer, but I prefer my audio setup without a pc/mac for playing DSD for simplicity reason.
 
The NA11S1 Ethernet does not support DSD. I recommend investigating the Lumin. The Weiss MAN301 might also be worth while investigating.
 
I hope Mr. Ishiwata monitor this thread and immediately ask his programmer team to update NA11S1 firmware with ethernet DSD capability...:)
NA11S1 can only display DSD songs from NAS (DSD compatible), I think it's just need one more step from Marantz to make it playable via ethernet.
 
Mike, first off a wonderful review. I have been planning a review of my own on the SA11S3, which I have had now for about 4 months. The only thing is, with two very young kids and a small house, I have not really had a chance to conclude on my opinion of both the SA11S3 and PM11S3.

My question is, how is the DAC in the NA11S1 compared to the one in the SA11S3? I know the SA11S3 doesn't do DSD, but besides that, are there huge difference between the two?

Welcome Tuan. Thank you. I have not reviewed or even heard the SA11S3. I would expect a lot of similarities with high res and redbook.
