What's New at Cary Audio
Mike,
Cary Audio has not moved to an entire direct sales model nor do we have plans to do so. We strive to protect and grow our distribution base through our U.S. and Canada dealers as well as International Distributors for our core Cary Audio product line. Currently, all of the Cary Audio products are sold through dealers and distributors, but we do offer a direct sales program for customers who reside at a minimum distance of 100 miles from the nearest retail storefront dealer. We will not sell to any customer that does not meet this requirement. We will continue to open quality dealers and will remove eligible areas of direct sales once a dealer is opened within those regions.
Cary Audio is also introducing two new hi-resolution USB & SPDIF 24 bit / 192K audio digital to analog converters, the solid-state DAC-100 and the vacuum tube DAC-100t. These products plan to start shipping in June 2013.
As far as the direct sales model, you are referring to our Audio Electronics by Cary Audio brand. We decided to bring back our Audio Electronics Supply (AES) brand that was launched in 1993 as a parts supplier. This continued until 2006 when we decided to emphasize the Cary Audio product line and concentrate on the development of new products including a full line of home theater systems. In 2011, we decided to re-introduce the AES brand as Audio Electronics by Cary Audio, with new styling and products targeted to today’s customers. All of the Audio Electronics products are designed and hand built in the Cary Audio factory in Apex, North Carolina. We decided to try a new business model with this product line by selling direct to consumers. This allows us to keep the products at a certain price point without having to compromise on quality. Below are the first four products released under the Audio Electronics by Cary Audio brand.
Nighthawk solid-state headphone amplifier (Retail Price: $1,195)
Constellation tube preamplifier (Retail Price: $1,495)
Hercules tube power amplifier (Retail Price: $1,895)
Lightning digital to analog converter (Retail Price: $1,295)-this product will begin shipping in May/June 2013
The Audio Electronics by Cary Audio products are available through its online store at www.aebycary.com.
Thanks again for the warm welcome!CARY AUDIO

Katie/Cary Audio...welcome to AS
A few questions on the DAC 100 and 100T. Looks like both support 16/44 up to 24/192 LPCM via all inputs (Toslink may be capped at up to 24/96 depending on source and cable used).
1) l there be support for DSD down the road on either of these DACs?
2) The attached link (CES 2013: Cary Audio | Confessions of a Part-Time Audiophile) has the suggested pricing for DAC 100 ($2,495) and DAC 100T ($2,995). Is this still accurate?
3) Finally, the link above also discusses the DMC-600 Music Server ($4,995) which incorporates DAC, Transport, selectable output stage between tube and SS, LPCM support up to 32/384 res, and DSD support on the USB input. Any updates on the DMC-600 (either in terms of design/feature set, pricing, time of launch, etc...)?
Thanks very much and glad to have you here at ASCyril
