Dynavector 20B2 high output MC, do I treat it as a MM?
I'm digging through my old Audiophile stuff that's been in storage for over 20 years. first up was a Pioneer PL800 Linear tracking turntable with a Dynavector 20B2 MC cart.
I check the manual of my current Pioneer EliteSC-LX904 and it said the phono input is only for MM cartridges and to use a MC pre-amp and a non-phono input with a MC. So I went and ordered a NAD PP2e which should be arriving later today.
A bit of research shows that although the 20B2 is a MC cartridge, it has a high output of 3.5mV. I was using it with a Luxman pre-amp with a phono input with a MM/MC selector but I have no idea which setting I used back then as I have used some other turntable and cartridge at the time.
I hook it up to the phono input on my receiver and the volume is just a bit lower than when I have Sony PS-HX500 (with a MM cart) connected to it. Need to get volume up to -14db where I normally runs -18-22db for all my other inputs. Will running it through the NAD give me a bit of a gain, should I connect it to the MM or MC input on the NAD and will the 3.5mV be too much for the MC input?
Thanks in advance. It's been a long while but I figure I might as well jump back in before my hearing gets any worse.

Yes, treat it as a MM. Sometimes depending on gain of the built-in phono the turntable sound will be lower than other sources. That's a nice cart.
The NAD would only be louder if it's gain is more than your current stage, still use MM. The MC will have too much gain.
