If you're into getting into the action, you've gotta get your hands on one of these!

Sony Exmor HDR-AS30V

STOP PRESS: new model HDR-AS100VR release next week!

Picked up one of these on our way through to the Maldives on a scuba diving holiday with 60m rated housing & underwater facia. Cheap as chips, this video camera excels under water, in low light at 1080P 60FPS to get all of the scuba action! Compact, lightweight & Headmounted to mask strap it has enough battery life for 2 x 60min dives (with WiFi off) & GPS tracking on, continuous recording. At that capture resolution, a 64GB micro SD card will give you 5hrs 30min of storage before SD card swap out or upload via WiFi Direct to your iPad or whatever.

Light and compact Full HD Action Cam perfect for recording all your active pursuits. Capture every epic moment with amazing clarity and stunning detail, whatever the situation.

Exmor R CMOS Sensor – excellent low-light performance
Full HD 1080 (60p,50p,30p,25p) HD 720 (120p, 60p)
Steadyshot Image Stabilisation – Shake free footage
12MP Still Image Mode
Built-in NFC & WiFi – One-Touch Remote Control
GPS Geo-tagging with Data Overlay

The newer model apparently has higher frame rates at lower resolutions & an improved Carl Zeiss lens WITH 13.5MP CCD & HDMI port. The accessories, housings, mounts facias are backward compatible, so I will be sure to upgrade the body given the ridiculously low price for the additional features.

Tip. Buy the soon to be superseded model with bundled accessory options & then upgrade to the new body.

The image stabilisation alone kills the GoPro competition. Not to mention the low light performance is amazing.

Diving with this in "water" mode where the cam compensates white balance was a treat. Light enough to hang off my mask. I didn't know it was there & it didn't tax my tank time.

The results far exceeded my expectations.
