I think so, Gary. We have fires to the North and East of us. Depending on which way the wind is blowing we'll get haze, soot and the smoke all settling in on us here in AJ. Yesterday it was pretty much an East wind day. It smelt like we were living in a fireplace.

Remembering magical Meteora!
Centuries old monasteries in Central Greece.
The area of Meteora was originally settled by monks who lived in caves within the rocks during the 11th Century.
But as the times became more unsure during an age of Turkish occupation and lawlessness, they climbed higher and higher up the rock face until they were living on the inaccessable peaks where they were able to build by bringing material and people up with ladders and baskets and build the first monasteries.
Not sure how much you know about the Spotted Lantern Fly, which is another destruction from China that was first introduced into the US in Berks County PA. It has since migrated throughout PA and several other states and is highly destructive with only one known Natural Predator here.
Here is proof on my tree showing a Praying Mantis eating a Lantern Fly.
