Re: Kimber cable review
I'll add that I've compared the three 6000 series Select speaker cables and they are much closer to each other than their price would lead you believe. In fact the copper KS 6063 is better in some systems than the KS 6068 and is at 22% of the cost. $5,180 compared to the $23,880 of the 8' run of KS 6068. Not that $5,180 is cheap by any means, but it at least brings the cost out of the stratosphere.

Re: Kimber cable review
Hi Jock,
Thanks for posting the review. It was a good read. I just purchased the KS-1116 interconnects and KS-6063 speaker cables and they sound absolutely wonderful. Quiet, smooth, neutral and transparent are the adjectives I would use to describe them. They make my Raidho D3's sing. I decided to go with Kimber's top all-copper cables because the performance was way up there, the price was right and I haven't had good luck with silver signal cables. I also felt the Kimber Select outperformed equivalently priced Cardas and Wireworld cables (in my opinion).
Best,

Re: Kimber cable review
Last night, I just inserted a pair of ks6063 to my system (thanks to Mike) and was very pleased with the result. The sound is smooth, natural with good extensions at both ends. The highs are beautifully delicate and the low end has the right balance of bloom and definition. Soundstage is wide and deep with images well delineated and suspended on nice ambience air. It replaces a pair of Cardas Clear Beyond between my ASR Emitter II amp and the Magico S5. The Cardas is already a very good cable, very dynamic with excellent depth. However, it is slightly dark in nature which adds to the already dark tonal balance of the amp. Now with the Kimber, things are better balanced. As I am also using Kimber ks1026 IC's so now I have a Select loom.
Next target for trial may be the 6065 but the Professor said it may not bring much.

Re: Kimber cable review
Avalon IDEA.
Not the best name for a speaker
But they just punch way above their size.
They make music.
P.S.- I was thinking of Cardas Clear at first, but they don't appear very often in the used market in Europe.
So, I had a chance of buying the 6063 for a very good price.
Ceptic at first, because I wouldn't be able to try before buy, but I'm glad I took the risk.
They are very very good and the sinergy with the rest of the system is wonderful.Music ON / World OFF

Re: Kimber cable review
KS6063 and i presume you're now talking about the all copper 1116?
Is that it the "full loom"? What can you tell me about the 1116?
I had the oportunity of listening to the 1130 a couple of days ago (before adding the 6063) in my vinyl rig and I like them a lot. In fact, they were the first silver interconnect I liked.Music ON / World OFF

Re: Kimber cable review
Yes, all my IC's are the 1116. I've heard the all silver, the hybrid, and the all copper. All three are great. With my current system the 1116's are a perfect match, I get all the air and detail I want with the natural warmth of copper. It was amazing how much difference it made when I added the last IC into my system, it went between the pre and the amp. Everything just seemed to come into complete focus!!
