    Component Video

I was cleaning up a storage area we have in the house and started going through boxes of audio/HT stuff.
I was amazed how many cheap and good quality component video cables were there. They were from 1M to 8M.

Does anyone use component video cables, short of having a very dated piece of equipment?

Amazing how much useless stuff collects as years go by. Time to fill a recycling box.

I have a bunch of tubs of both raw wire (I used to make many of my own cables and many moons ago almost went into the business) and completed cables as well (both store bought and home made). I have a bin or two full of old small electronics stuff (e.g. VHS rewinders, store audio video distribution units from when Circuit City went out of business and sold the bins with whatever was in them), most still working and I probably at some point will go through it.

    Re: Component Video

Good component video cables can be used as audio cables in non-critical applications. Just strip off the color you don’t want. Sereiosly they are 75 Ohm cables and some are built pretty well.
