Condolences to his family and Bryston. My first high end amp purchase was a Bryston, I couldnt swing for the Levinson ML-11 i really wanted and settled for a 3B. Their gear used square head safety screws the first id seen of them in audio gear, this was the mid-80s and Bryston was based in Vermont at the time. I chatted with Brian for a while and he ended up mailing me a driver with the appropriate socket so I could peer inside my new acquisition. I recall him telling me "just look, don't touch any wires!" lol

Indeed sad news. RIP Mr. Russell.

Along with his team, he built an excellent audio brand just about second to none in terms of warranty coverage.

I’ve owned a few Bryston components through the years. Never broke down and sounded pretty darn well.

The Bryston 3B was my first amp too. I wanted but couldn’t afford the 4B. It was mated with the 0.5B preamp and Apogee Duetta Signatures and sounded marvelous. Those were the days!
