Boulder arrives at Suncoast Audio

Mike. I was wondering, what's the MSRP of the 1160?
I heard this amp paired with the S7's and the M3's and was mightily impressed.

It’s $28,000. I’ve been thinking how incredible that amp would be with S7’s myself.
 
How does it compare with Mephisto? They both are class A SS amps. Curious to know the difference between them.

Not really. The massive heat sinks do a pretty good job. The amp has been on and playing since day one and it’s warm to the touch.

Boulder on some models use to have a thermal cutout circuit that would mute the amplifier when the transistor cases reach 85°C - 185F. They had a red indicator light come on when this happened. Not sure if this is still a fact though ....
 
Very cool Mike! I didn’t see them in the store yesterday. My focus was on the Extremes.

I really like the sculpture and chiseled look of the new Boulders.

I’m trying to figure out how to restrain myself. I’m very happy with D’Agostino, real happy until I see Boulder.

Boulder at RMAF last year had a fantastic room!

Totally in love with this Boulder gear. OMG. The 1160 is a great amp, but this 2160, mama Mia! I demoed them both today for a gentleman looking to upgrade from his 1060 and he said to me “with the 1160, the speakers sounded really good, but the 2160 took them to the crazy good level.”
