    Boulder 866 app

Has anyone successfully connected their 866 to an android phone or Apple device? I find Boulder's instructions totally useless and a huge waste of time. I am not trying to control music. I just want to change some settings and load a picture for each input. I can't see the stock images from my sitting position.

My 866 can use either WiFi or Ethernet. I have an iPad and Motorola phone.

At this point I don't see the value of undergoing so much frustration. I am just curious what others have done and what they think.

Hi Dizzie. I had one on loan and felt the same way. Ended up using m connect to control the music but was unable to control the settings in the amplifier. As a result I handed it back. Too hard to use.

Sorry I don’t have an answer for u. Best of luck.

Thank you for making me feel less tech challenged.

FYI, The 866 works great as a straight, no nonsense integrated with DAC.

I don’t understand the whole iPhone app to control the amp approach. I like a good old fashioned remote. The new Rogers amp we have in the store is all “app to control it”. No remote. Guess what? Apple just deleted their app from the App Store and now they are fighting with Apple to get it back up. Apple told them they will look into it in a couple of weeks.

I ran huge projects for the largest pharma, aerospace, retail, manufacturing companies in the world. Guess what? I know tech! I still say, give me a old fashioned remote any day of the week.

I agree. It's similar to auto manufacturers moving the aircon controls to the touchscreen or the gear levers to a wheel-dial or buttons on the console....it's a "solution" that never was a problem.
