Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories
The DTC Powerbox is such a great investment though. As I've stated earlier, in my Introduce yourself thread, I think that the DTC powerbox is such a good tool, that people should even consider buying it, even though they don't got the signalz cables for it. It's stacked with Tesla coil, and therefor adds such a rich black background to your system. It's a very affordable tool as well

Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories
I've been thinking of how to organize some of my equipment lately. I moved away server, NAS, routers etc from my audio rig and is currently using WiFi to send the audio stream (a long ethernet cable is not an option), but I have been thinking if I should move it back to be able to use ethernet again. I'm however afraid of potential noise or pollution from these devices entering my audio gear.
Do you think the Mainz 8D should be good enough to prevent this and protect the devices from each other?
Would it make any difference to get a Mainz 8X connected to the Mainz 8D and put these noisy devices in that one?
Or should I maybe just keep it as it is and far away from everything...
Any thoughts?

Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories
Lars told me that by connecting any electrical device to your power distribution, it should have a positive effect on the device. I've seen TV's/projectors connected to a Mainz 8, and it has a positive visual effect on the screens, with better resolution etc.
When we're talking about ethernet, I'm not entirely sure. I guess there's only one way to find out I'm afraid.
My router is not connected to my distribution as well.Scansonic MB-1, Aavik U-300, Sony CD Player as transport, mixture of ansuz cables in different qualities, Ansuz Mainz X Power Distribution, Ansuz Power Distribution for DTC cables

Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories
I disagree.... I currently have both the diamond and DTC digital cables right now (for a demo). If I don't add the power cable to the DTC cable I can't tell the difference between the diamond and the DTC cable. That said the DTC power box does help a little overall with nothing connected. Now once you add power to the DTC cable the difference is huge (especially the clarity and detail or I would say a much blacker background).

Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories
So I just ordered a D-TC Mainz to replace my Diamond... Even though I've not got it yet I actually feel quite satisfied going this route with 1 DTC + 2 Ceramics instead of all Diamond. It also leaves some room for future upgrading of the Ceramics if I should ever want to...

Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories
So while waiting for my Mainz D-TC cable to arrive (for the Mainz8D) I decided to get rid of one of my two Mainz Ceramics and keep my Mainz Diamond instead. It's probably for the best as I'm likely to take that step one day or the other anyway. My thoughts are now this, as I have one Ceramic and one Diamond to use for my electronics, which should go where? Would you guys put the Diamond with the DAC/Preamp or the Power amp? Any thoughts or recommendations?

I would say put the Diamond on the amp BUT you should try it on both and see/hear which you prefer.

Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories
Will do. I have a lot of "burning in" to do though, with new signal and power cables, dac/preamp and poweramp... I've changed everything at once here completely against all "rules", but according to a plan and in a direction I've wanted to go for a long time, just that it all had to happen at once to make it possible... scary for sure, but also incredible exciting to say the least.

Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories
I'm Dutch
But if you ever want to sell some mains C in the future, feel free to contact me.
I'll be honest I really like Ansuz but I need to hunt for 2nd hand/trade in/demo models. I cannot afford them for list price. So I'm happy there are people like you.
My plan is to use X or maybe P series interlinks. P series powercord for DAC, phono amp and maybe integrated amp. And a A or if I'm lucky a C series from wall outlet to Ansuz Mainz D8.Pre amp: Ocatve Phono Module Power amps: Octave MRE130 Turntable: SAC Girati Grande. Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories
Ahh, sorry... I'm slowly starting to understand why my old teacher had me to re-do the geography test over and over until school ended....
Believe me, I'm too struggling with those prices... haha... I've been lucky though, and I've been able to climb the ladder upwards.... I try to not think about the actual cost of a cable, but what I pay in between only. I think it should be possible to find some good prices second hand if you have the patience. It can almost be frustrating to read about everyone on the forums who has Diamonds or D-TC's all over and it feels like another world... I've been there too.... it's your journey though, and by slowly climbing the ladder you'll appreciate each change...Speakers: Kroma Thais. Amplifier: Ypsilon Phaethon. Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories
Today i had a little chat with my local Anzus dealer. I had a pair of X en P interlinks on loan. While I admit the P is better I could not justify the extra cost. I discussed it with my dealer and he agreed with me that buying the X interlinks and buying a good power cable later on is better then buying P interlinks and not being able to afford other cables for a long time.
So now I happily installed the X interlinks.
I already have the Mains D8.Pre amp: Ocatve Phono Module Power amps: Octave MRE130 Turntable: SAC Girati Grande. Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories
Congratulations on the X IC´s.
They are also a really nice cable series and for the money, you get very much value ..and imho very gorgeous to look at too
I also agree , start with those and then save up for a P or A power cord into the Mainz D8.
The Mainz D8 give you a very nice foundation and level to your system.
Btw, love your La Musica amp Very nice and powerfull amp and so musical and dynamic.Buch

Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories
I've now had the Mainz DTC cable in my system for a few weeks, it replaced a Diamond into an Mainz 8D which moved further down the chain replacing a Ceramic. I think the way to describe the improvements is like with all Ansuz cables, it's hard to imagine for every level how it possible can get any better, how much more can the noise level be lowered, how much more detail can actually be retrieved, the soundstage, the dynamics. Everything just gets better. It doesn't make any sense, but yet there it is. I'm blown away.
If you guys remember I was wondering which of my Ceramics I would replace the Diamond with, the one for the DAC/preamp or the one for the power amp. I started out by putting the Diamond on the DAC/preamp which I thought made most sense and then changed it to the power amp after a few weeks. It's always difficult when changing things as you are kind of both hoping and expecting an improvement, and thus also looking for it. If one had the patience several changes back and forth would of course be optimal. In this case I wasn't really expecting an improvement, but I would say I think it actually got better by quite a margin in a similar way as I described above. This is highly system dependent of course, but in my system I guess the power amp is gaining more from an improvement in power than what the DAC does.
Note that I'm using a LampizatOr DAC with built-in volume control, calling it a preamp is maybe a bit too much. If there would have been an active preamp in the system the outcome might have been different. I will keep the Diamond on the power amp, but the goal is of course in the future to also replace the only Ceramic cable that is left with another Diamond.
As a sidenode I also got my first Mainz X cable. Very good looking, and extremely stiff but yet bendable cable. Very different from the rest of the Ansuz lineup.Speakers: Kroma Thais. Amplifier: Ypsilon Phaethon. Digital: LampizatOr Baltic 3, Lumin U1 Mini. Analog: MoFi Ultradeck, PS Audio Stellar Phono.

Hi Maxhw. I'm not familiar with the Entreq ground box. I guess there is only one way to find out - regarding connecting units to the Mainz 8 D, you should connect any electronics and in my own experience it only has a positive effect (I'm not sure with routers and switches though). I've even connected my TV to the box, and experienced better picturing on the screen.

Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories
Hi Coolhard. I do have the X power distributor at home, but it's connected with the ceramic mainz. You should always use your best power cord from the wallsocket to your distributor, since it's that powercord that makes the standard for the rest of your system. The X Mainz is a perfect match for the Mainz8 X. When we're talking about the interconnects. It might not be as flexible as other brands, and like Mordante said, it stays in the shape that you bend it, but you can always straighten it up again. I hope that these advices will help you.

Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories
Tonight I had the pleasure of meeting Frits Dalmose as he was doing a great demo of Ansuz/Aavik/Raidho in Stockholm. Very fascinating demo, if you ever get the chance of attending an Ansuz demo where they go through the entire cable, power distributor and decoupler chain, be sure to attend! You will not regret it. Afterwards we talked a little, and he made me realize something that I had almost forgotten about or simply down-prioritized. I've always thought that I should sometime in the future get Darkz for my Mainz 8D, but as it comes with 1 level of Diamond feet I guess my reasoning have been that I should put the Darkz I have under my electronic gear first. Frits own words was that the Mainz 8D is the "heart of the system" and is the most important. I completely agree. As soon as I got home I took the Darkz d-TC from my DAC and put under the Mainz 8D instead. I've only had a quick listen, but did it make a difference? It sure did... much bigger bass and soundstage in particular. Very nice...
I also came to another conclusion tonight as I've been thinking of getting one or a few Sparkz TC... it would be so much more "cost conscious" to get another Mainz 8D instead as it contains no less than 6 Sparkz and 12 Sparkz TC.... when it comes to Ansuz, the Mainz 8D must be considered best bang for the bucks.... and a real catch, almost "cheap" actually...Speakers: Kroma Thais. Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories
Just received 2 set of POM Speakz (replacing Nordost Heimdall) for connecting from my external cross-over box to the speakers. From the amp to the cross over box was 2 set of 2.5m Ansuz POM connected in bi-wire mode from the amp.
Finally, I get to hear full loom speakz in my system. The result is spectacular! Much more body in the sound and the bass went deeper. All these without any degrading in any other aspects.

Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories
I love Raidho sound and the way the Ansuz cables and power stuff are made and look, but if I am going to throw that much money on a accessory they better have some type of hard data that shows they are a better choice, period. For me what I liked about the Raidho's not so much on the Scansonic is how of a dead quite background they have, now granted the system was all Raidho speakers, Avaik Int. Amp and all their own cables and Mainz 8D, so not sure if it is the sum of all the system that causes this great dead quite background or if it's the equipment or the speakers. Maybe some of you can chime in, I did just recently try a pair of speaker cables a friend had (Ansuz Acoustics Speakers Diamonds) he bought them on Audiogon. I did compared them to the Nordost Heimdall and heard zero difference, but then again I heard zero difference from the Blue Heaven "inexpensive" pair I have.. I mean if you really want to make a difference in your sound on the power end of things one should look at their room and power coming into it! I have a dedicated system with it's own power going to it, some thing tells me you might actually spend less money if you go that route! Huge thumbs up for their quality on how they are made and their looks, to end things on a positive note. The Mainz 8D is some thing that looks like it might work if you should have interference and or grounding issues in your system and if I lived in a major city I might invest in some thing like this for sure.

Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories
We've got a fully treated 60 sqm showroom in Stockholm, Sweden with dedicated lines, high-end fuses and separated top of the line Furutech outlets. This is indeed a solid and very cost effective power foundation.
We carry Ansuz, Aavik, Raidho and Scansonic. The improvements on each level moving up the ladder when using a complete loom of Ansuz are obvious to anyone auditioning their choice of electronics and speakers in this room.
The context is everything, where the level of your system will ultimately determine the result. To put in a single speaker cable might add to the overall performance of the system - or not.
To get a real sense of Ansuz (or any other brand for that matter), I'd suggest borrowing a complete setup from a dealer. A full loom of P or A-level cables will do more for the overall performance and give you a much clearer sense of what Ansuz brings to the table than a single D-cable put in together with a mix of other brands.
Good luck!

Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories
audionirvana - Hi Gar - guess who
As Lars and Fritz have always stated start with the foundation. That being from the wall to the distribution piece like the MainzD8. I started with the MainzD8 and 2 Ceramic power cords. One from the wall to the mainz and the other to the amp (in my case the Aavik U300 integrated). I was using Nordost Frey for speaker cables at the time. When I demoed to the Ceramic speaker cable at first I heard no difference in tonality - dynamics or anything. I thought WTF??? Turns out I was listening for a change in tonality. Then I tried something different. One Nordost and and one Ansuz. That's when I heard the magic. The Ansuz side was a more open sound with better separation of instruments and vocals on one side. I reversed the cables and the openness changed sides. The Freys never went back in. Now mind you I already had the 'foundation'.
As far as the dead quiet background the Raidho's themselves do a great job of that because the ceramic cone has a resonate breakup of around 12khz which is far outside the crossover point. I'm pretty sure the resonate break up of Dynaudio is around 6.5Khz which is also outside the crossover point. When Raidho went to the diamond coat the resonate breakup jumped to 20K. If you heard the C1.2 vs the D1.1 at Axpona the D1.1 had a bit more blacker background resulting in more clarity and richness to the sound kind of like taking off speaker grills IMO (Raidho's and Scansonic have no grills as you know). Now when I went from Dyn C1 Sig's to the original D1's that was the first thing I noticed. I had an Octave V110 at the time as you know. So it was the speaker. But another thing I thought is the D1's didn't play anywhere near as loud as the C1's. Well I was sort of right. They are really closer than I thought once I went outside my house. It's the quieter background. You hear more music. I know you like the D series but don't overlook the XT3's. They are a bit more 'lively' which I think is more of a sound that's more to your liking. On top of that they can play a lot louder than any of the D series with the exception of the 5.1's IMO.
Back to the cables. Ansuz DTC's are really magical but uber expensive. They will lower the noise floor even more. When Lars came to my home and demoed the DTC power cord I was floored. I have dedicated circuits and thought I had 'clean' power. I remember the day I had them installed I was amazed how much better my system sounded. So when Lars did the demo the noise floor dropped even more. Then we compared how loud I could play with and without the DTC cord. I would say I could play about 2-3db louder with the DTC compared to my Ceramic. Then the day I decided to upgrade my D2's to 2.1's Tyler brought over a DTC digital cable with power box and said check this out. I had the Nordost Heimdall digital cable. Holy cr@p!! I heard detail I never knew was on several recordings. On top of that I never lost any musicality and only gained more detail/clarity.
Now when I met Mike B when he was doing a D5 to .1 upgrade I asked him how does the DTC clean up the signal. He said it shifts any noise out past 100khz without affecting the original signal whether being ac or music. Truly amazing but expensive. Now as far as 'hard data' you know where I stand on that. What data would you need to see that equates to sound quality let alone your personal taste for sound? You just need to let your ears - not mine or anyone else's make that decision.
As far as dead quiet it is everything but it does gets better with each piece.
As a side note I'll be seeing Tyler John and Dr Tumbong (Rhettard) at his store today. Should be close to officially opening.George
Aavik U300 - Borresen 03 with optional Supreme D-TC feet - Naim unitiserve 2tb - Ansuz DTC digital cable with power box - Ansuz Mainz8 D-TC with 1 Ansuz Supreme D-TC and 1 Ceramic V2 power cords - Ansuz Ceramic V2 speaker cables - Ansus X Ethernet - pARTicular Novus full suspension rack.

Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories
George: not discounting everything just not a fan of pricing unless it's reasonable and we all know what the Mark up is on cables and power chords etc.. like I said in pervious post I think it's the sum of more, maybe more of a good thing they are using in their equipment and speakers! D 1.1 are stil n my list along with Contour 20's / 40's. Good to hear about Tylers place as he is my neighbor up at the Lake, like right down the road! I think Hyperion might be spot on with his post! I would love to hear these cables and power used on different equipment and especially speakers.

Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories
Can't argue with pricing but I like what I hear in my system.
Talk about rip offs I just had a stent put in for my right leg. It's an outpatient procedure and I just saw what the hospital billed the insurance company. Checked in at 9:30am and was released at 4pm. They billed $111,414.00 and that is just the hospital. WTF???? I don't know but after seeing that all Raidho/Ansuz/Aavik products seem darn right cheap in comparison even at full retail LMAO!!George

Because I'm a client of Topper Jewelers, they gave me a 20% discount off the retail price, so paid USD $440 for this watch. As for TAG Heuers, I lost interest in the brand when they started...
