As far as I know, the tonearm cables start at the Aluminium. Will the ever be a X or Pom series tonearm cable. Would love to see a more affordable tonearm cable from Ansuz. An one piece cable starting at the headshell ending in RCA plugs, straight into the phono amp. That way I can skill the SME connector.

    Mordante,

I recently asked Frits about this though for the C and upwards as I thought about rewire my Kuzma 4P. I was told that the cable design doesn't enable a one piece installment due to its bulk and geometry. Perhaps it will be a different story with the P as they are physically smaller in diameter?

Perhaps Ansuz-Lars or -Emil on this forum can give a better answer or hope about P tonearm cable end to end.

The C series would be a bit overkill for my setup I think.

Dr Feickert and Kuzma arms are IMHO a great combination and maybe a Thales simplicity or Reed linear arm as second arm. Or an Ikeda, there are just too many good options.

If I were to win a lottery I add a Reed linear tone arm to my turntable, with a VdH grail SB phono amp.

Sorry for for the off topic.

    Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories

    Hi,

My rationale for this V2 jump is to try them all! D2 from wall to D8 box, C2 from box to Aavik and then some A2 to psu's of the streamer and vinyl. With reports about A2 being almost as good as D1 and crushing C1 my expectations are high. I may just play around a little with the configurations. I also figured it would be easier to sell A2 etc when upgrading upstream. Goal is still to go DTC from wall to D8 box (or why not DTC box efter selling a kidney).

The wait is painful, me want now/Mike

Mike first replace the D1 with the A2. I personally think the A2 is better. I had a D1 going from the Mainz to the U300 and although the D1 is better than the C1 I didn't miss the D1 when it was taken out after 6 weeks. But when Lars put the prototype A2 in the improvement was huge. BTW the D2 is a huge jump from the C2. Any idea when they will arrive?

    Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories

    Thanks for the input George!

It all sounds very promising I must say. How about the jump from C2 to D2? When demonstrated at the Ansuz event some months ago I thought the jump wasn't that big between C2 and D2. However the system was hooked with a 4 or 5 meter DTC from the wall to the D8 box plus a DTC power box which was hooked to the D8 box by the new D2 Mainz. A2 was the big surprise at that event and C2 a worth while upgrade but as I said C2 to D2 not so much. My ears, I know…. but with the old series, the D was the level that snapped everything into musical focus and drive.

So I am pretty psyched for this delivery that will keep me sleepless for some 2 weeks...

    Enjoy on/Mike

Sounds very promising and confirms my one D2 choice instead going full C2. I have a hard time imagine a better sounding system than I have now but that I said many times before...

Oh Lord! I just cancelled my order because I'm listening to headphones now more often than speakers. The only two devices that I normally use that are plugged into my D8 are an Aurender N10 and Chord Dave. The U-300 and XT-2's are idle most of the time and I didn't think it was worth the investment. I suppose my past experience with leading edge windburn had something to do with it too.

I have a hotline open to Tyler but I've already spent some of the money on an Ansuz PC for my Dave amp.

Thanks Lars, that's the Info I've been after. Another thing is how will it sound differently? There isn't much depth with headphones although the Chord Dave does it best.

    Hi Bud

its not different sounding, it much more of everything
much much blacker background to your music. Also it seems that the dynamic headroom had no limitations. And you can for sure play your system much louder without distortion and compression.. I have never heard any product in my life which can make such a huge improvement.
It is by far the best product that Michael and I have ever made

    Thank you Lars,

Here's a question I've been trying to get answered. I have a full loom of DTC power cables. One of them goes to the Aurender streamer from the MainzD8. What would be the consequences if I replaced that DTC PC with a new C2 PC and then replaced the D8 with the new Mainz DTC? I've thought about using one of my DTC PC's to fund the new Mainz DTC.

I live in a small apartment and can't play my system too loudly, that's why I listen so much with headphones.

My system now is about as good as I could get it before you developed the new Mainz DTC. It already has a dark background.

Then there is also the type of music I listen to. I almost never listen to music produced with electronic devices. I have Tidal but most of the music on there I would never listen to. So there is more to my decision than meets the eye.

Anyway, I appreciate your time to help me make a decision.

    Hello Lars,

You, George and Tyler have convinced me to restore my order for the Mainz8 DTC. I did it tonight and hope to get mine before the end of the month.

I also ordered a C2 PC for the Chord Dave.

    Hi Bud

The Powercord going into the Mainz8 DTC is by far the most important cable of them all,, of cause the cables going out of the distributor is the 2nd most important..
cause of you are using the Aurender as main source the cable going in there is therefore also of highly importance..

but when that said will the new C2 going out of the DTC to your streamer, perform better than a DTC Powercord going out of the Mainz 8 D , absolutely YES

Well, it's all academic Lars. I renewed my order with Tyler for the Mainz8 DTC and I'll use the C2 on my Chord Dave amp/DAC. I'll keep my full loom of DTC PC's and swap from a D8 to a DTC.

I hope to get the new DTC before the end of the month.

Thanks to you, George and Tyler for helping me make up my mind.

    Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories

Here is some food for thought! Strangely I never experienced that D8 contributed that much what everyone else says. The Mainz cables did a big big difference though. Just when the D8 was released I tested it and I wasn't overwhelmed as it made things slightly quieter but at the same time to my ears made the music less interesting, so no buy. Then fast forward to some years later when testing Mainz cables again with my at that time passive filterbox (Lampizator) the Mainz cables gave a superb hike in performance. Replacing it with the D8, honestly didn't do much else than sounding slightly different. Though I still decided to go with the D8 to have the full Ansuz philosophy ie grounding etc plus adding some more AC outlets. Reading the kudos comments about the Mainz8 DTC I can't wait to test it and see (hear) if it is the ticket to Nirvana. Looking fw to the comments from all you early adopters.

Mike the difference with the D8 that I heard was a lower noise floor. Yes it sounded different but it created a better separation of instruments and vocals. Earth Shattering no but maybe a 5 -10% better clarity. IMO every % no matter how small are additive and eventually add up to some big improvements.

Have you demoed any D-TC cables? The gap between D-TC and original diamond is huge.

    Hi George,

Good that I've got that confirmed as many told me I have bad ears… Anyway the % hike wasn't really motivated by the cost. Didn't dare demo DTC in the home system and truth is that my dealer haven't had them for demo, yet. I am pretty sure it will be a blast. My big first choice will be DTC box or DTC Mainz as there should be time to enjoy each upgrade step. DTC= Devine Tasty Cable ?

    Enjoy/Mike

To hear just how much difference the Mainz D8 can make, put it on a set of Darkz DTC's. I'd removed them from my D8 when I did some recabling and finally put them back last night. I'd been trying to find out why the bass in my system seemed a bit bloated. That problem went away with the DarkZ's and I got back the three dimensional sound as well as instruments that were more organic. It was if a light was turned on.

For those who are going to make the hefty investment in the new Mainz DTC, I seriously suggest that you also invest in some level of Darkz's.

    Bud,

I have DTC Darkz under each component in my system including D8 box and speakers. These are amazing! My views above concerning the so-so hike in SQ was based on it being on Darkz DTC. Never used D8 without Darkz DTC with exception from the D8 home demo 2 years ago.
But again, Darkz DTC for whole system is where I would go after first getting the wall to filter box Mainz (plus D box).
