George: I would look into that as most Bypass Surgeries cost that much and putting stents in cost much less. I would make sure they have that procedure coded correctly! Ironically in the medical field they have tons of "scientific" studies proving procedures and comparing products, they spend millions doing so, not even a fair comparison by any means. If the Audio Industry did this maybe they could actually validate one cables is better than another, but I guess we will have to live with pseudoscience! I not have a problem with that, as long as I hear the difference and don't imagine it, hence home evaluation is always the best bet, or a dealer who leaves you be when audioning.

voicesinmyhead, sorry for late reply as been travelling and just got home. No, I did not have any chance to try the Entrep ground box with my Mainz d8. Don't really want to buy one and if not good then will have to sell it away. Presently very contended with my Ansuz config.

I think only the D and X-TC models have active "Tesla Coil" technology, which I have no idea what it is exactly, I only know this is what you want....

I found these illustrative details on highendcable website... while only covering D and A model, I guess the X and X-TC are smilar in comparison, but maybe fewer "Sparkz"...

With that said... I love my 8D and can wholeheartedly recommend it...

    Ansuz Cables & Accessories

Hi guys - I use X, C and DTC myself in the store. Awesome stuff. I emailed the folks at Ansuz and here's what they said:

"Between all the similarities there are among the Mainz8's there are also major difference, mainly in the numbers of Sparkz units onboard.

The Mainz8 X has the equivalent to one Sparkz.

Mainz8 A has the equivalent to nine Sparkz

Mainz8 D has the equivalent to nine Sparkz and 12 Sparkz TC

The Mainz8 X-TC is not so easy to compare as it has some of our latest technology. It is actually based on the technology we use in the D-TC cables.

As you can properly guess, the units we sell the most is still the best performer - the Mainz8 D and the the distributor with the best price/performance ratings- the Mainz8 X-TC."

9 is even more than 6, so that's good... maybe the picture above is old and outdated, or it was simply wrong from the beginning.... still it illustrated the differences quite well.

This week only, on my vacation, I introduced Ansuz cables for 2 new happy owners by selling some of my old ones, but what was most fun was that both of them immediately bought more cables... once bitten by Ansuz, you just got to have more....

Maybe I should have vacation more often also...

Agreed! What I do hear in the U.S. is keep a good supply on hand for demo. The X series power cord is a big seller for Raidho (and even some non Raidho) fans.

    Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories

    The new cables are coming...

From the Ansuz Facebook page this ad was posted for a release tour event by danish reseller Lydspecialisten together with Ansuz and Aavik. There will be 3 events in Denmark (Aalborg, Aarhus and Copenhagen) between 6th-14th of September!

I'm swedish and my danish is not the best, but with some help of Google translate I think the tagline says something like "Ansuz has world premiere of four brand new cable series which will lift the legacy of the previously acclaimed series".

Four new models? I thought only A, C and D was affected...

By judging of the picture the connectors seem to have changed quite a bit.

    Exciting times!

Also, Aavik is premiering the little brother to U-300, called U-150...

If the U-150 had arrived a few months ago I would probably have put it on top of my shortlist of things to buy. But now I have my Job monos and is not prepared to part from them.

I'm thinking it would be fun to attend one of these events also, I've attended 2 Ansuz/Aavik/Raidho events before and they are the very best at presenting. It's quite far though, but maybe maybe.....

    Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories

I just have to share what I thought myself was a quite funny Ansuz story. For the last couple of days I have felt that my system has improved remarkably but I haven't been able to put a finger on it or understand why. What did I change? Did I add something new recently? Did I move the speakers? Actually my cat put a hole in one of the speaker-drivers(!), but I kind of doubt that was what caused the big improvement in sound I'm hearing.

But this morning it became clear to me, so obvious actually! Ok, so moving back in time... I added a preamp in my chain earlier this year, and then I got short on Signalz cables. I couldn't afford another Diamond cable at the time and settled for a "temporary" Ceramic. Everything has been sounding nice and so, but then I had a buyer on my Ceramic and I thought maybe it was a good time to upgrade to the Diamond.

Said and done, I put the Diamond in and didn't think so much more about it, it wasn't that much different than before and almost a bit disappointing considering the price difference and all, but it felt nice to have a complete Diamond in the signal chain of course and I was happy. Now, a few weeks later... the Diamond has burned-in and opened up, the difference is astonishing and the music keeps dragging me back, it's so addictive and I just can't stop listening! I'm SO impressed!

It's almost unbelievable that there's another level above these Diamond cables with the D-TC, which for me is completely untouchable though, and now adding the new D2 models as well. The improvement with the new models is said to be big, but it doesn't take away the fact that these "old" Diamond cables are something special for sure.

Two pictures from the events earlier this week, showing the new Aavik U-150 and the new Diamond power cable called "D2". Shared by Ansuz on Facebook.

The Aavik maybe would deserve it's own topic, but as Ansuz fans we are of course interested in the Aavik stuff as well...

I heard that it should be possible to get the U-150 in black just as the U-300, but I haven't seen any confirmation about it anywhere.

Still looking forward to listening impressions...

The Aavik U-150 will only be able in the colour shown on the picture. We've had two great days showing our new products in Aavik and Ansuz at our local dealer in Aalborg and Lřgten where our show facilities is. So far the responses has been great

    We actually had two demos.

One where we talked about the foundation of the system and how to improve your system by doing sudden things right (Mainly X-Series / Darkz / Power Distribution).

At the second demo we did compare some of our new cables with the older version.

Well now the cats out of the bag so to say I had a demo of prototype Aluminum and Ceramic V2 power cables and Ceramic V2 speaker cables in my home. It was late Jan or early Feb of this year. The V2's have a slightly warmer sound and Lars put the Aluminum in place of my Ceramic. The Aluminum V2 blew away my Ceramic. Then he put the Ceramic V2 in and it sounded even better. Then he replaced my Ceramic speaker cables with the Ceramic V2. Yep better again. The demo only lasted about 45 min so I couldn't do a serious listening session. I also couldn't convince Lars to to leave the power cables here. I plan on upgrading my Ceramic power cable and maybe pick up the Aluminum for my DTC power box.

And when I'm there, the new shiny D-TC mk2 will be launched... There is always something to desire out there....

Seriously though, your early preview of the prototypes seems very promising and it's quite amazing how these already wonderful cables could be improved upon even more.

Since you are going to claim bankruptcy might as well trade to Job monoblocks for Aavik monos. They sound a lot better than even the U300.

    Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories

I attended the 2nd show near Aarhus and can give you some impressions here..

Left work a couple of hours early and took the first show where you could just bump in/out as you wished.
First man to be there, so it was nice to have Lars, Fritz, Emil and Thomas from the Danish dealer on close hand at the beginning.
All so nice guys and always joking with each other

I heard the Raidho D1.1´s with the new Aavik U-150 and a Primare CD used as transport.
Simple setup and believe it was fitted with entire Alu cables/darkz. (with the D8 distributor)
It sounded amazing and so elegant, refined and with a total black blackground and still all details and big, sorrounding and transparent soundstage.
Then Fritz changed the first A mainz to the new A2 and what before sounded so very nice, just sounded even nicer and more body, refined and musical.
The same thing again when he changed it to the C2 and later D2 and also upgraded from the distributor to the Aavik U-150. He also powered the Primare transport.
Even though I have heard many Raidho/Ansuz demos and etc, I still get surprised about thinking..wow, this is great..how can it be better than this?
But every time when there is an upgrade, I just sit...wow, it could and feels almost like that before the singer did not sound natural , the bass was not full-bodied and was single noted before.
But it can every time just get even better

Then we went into the smaller show room where they had curtains in front of the system.
We heard a song (unfamiliar to me) and it sounded nice.. I could hear it was not quite up to the system I just heard and guessed it was maybe the larger sized Scansonic MB3 or 5 speakers..
But when the curtain was taken away, it was "only" the small X-1´s.
You just many times think it must come from a bigger speaker, when the soundstage is that big and nice.
It was all powered with the X cables and some affordable Naim equipment.
Fritz showed us what the first power cable from the wall to the distributor meant.
He only changed that cord and it just lifted the sound way up.
Also showed the importance of the Mainz distributors , compared to another much used distributor (no-name mentioned here). The soundstage just collapsed entirely and the musicality went totally away. Also when not using the darkz under the CD player, the same thing happened.

If I should say my impressions about the new V2 cables.. it sounded a bit to me, like the new V2 cables is maybe comparable to the former higher series. We did not compare direct much and etc, but feels like the A2 for instance maybe starts where the C series is. And then when going up, it was like the same "steps" took place like going from POM to A, to C to D and etc.
I did not at all ask/hear about the prices for the new V2 series, so do not know where they are placed.

I was also much fascinated by the new Aavik U-150.

Has been a long time hooked for the U-300, but found it a bit over my budget at the time. So when hearing that the U-150 is below half the price and can be delivered without Riaa/phonostage, (that I do not need) and also without DAC module if wanted. But the price for the DAC module was very fair to me and it has DSD and MQA included also. Also the same power/watts as the U-300.
The display could be faded out in 3-4 steps and totally out also.
I did not hear the U-300 yesterday, so can not compare. I just thought the sound was amazing, so think it has all what I want and can live with it at home
Thanks to all the guys for the great show as always

Thanks for a great report and pictures! I love reading about these new products and the impacts they have. And the more pictures I see of the U-150 the more I like it. I'll admit my first reaction was a bit disappointing because I find the U-300 design just marvellous, and I thought they had kind of lost some of what I liked most about the U-300, but it's slowly growing on me.... I also love the modular approach where you can choose RIAA and/or DAC if you want or not, huge plus and a modern and right approach, let me as customer choose what I need.

And speaking about that... I think I *need* D2's.... but that's another story...

Too many D's out there... although speakers might be next on my list, the Raidho's won't appreciate the tight and limited space I can offer them at this time....

    Re: Ansuz Cables & Accessories

I actually fell in love with the XT-2 about a year ago when I heard them at a show in Sweden. They have since been my first (realistic) choice for Raidho speakers. Mrs VoicesInMyHead is not very happy about the design though, I think they were too shiny in their glossy finish, and she doesn't like speakers that are leaning backwards and have big "Mickey Mouse" feets etc etc.... it's not easy to please...

I'm still afraid even the XT-2 would feel better having a bit more space though.... I need to position them quite close to both back and side walls... and I think most speakers don't handle this very well.

I haven't heard the D2 but like I said in a previous post the A2 killed my C1 and the C2 killed the A2. I would go out on a limb and say yje A2 would give a D1 a run for the money. And those were the prototypes. What I heard in the short demo was a warmer and with more clarity sound like going from up the ladder with the V1's.

As far as I know they (V2's) haven't been released yet.

I also did not hear the D and D2 against each other.
Only was the A that was changed to the A2 and it was a very nice improvement.
Then the A2 was changed to a C2 and later the D2.
Also it was a quick demo and etc, but with all Ansuz I found that when upgrading it only gets better on all parameters.
Still keeps same sonics and etc, but some more bass , more resolution, more details, more body and general musicality and transparancy gets better each time.
So my guess is that these are some of the things the D2 has compaired to the D.
But you need to contact your dealer and hear when you can get it demoed in your own room

Does anyone know the prices of the second series cables? Right now I use X series interlinks, 1 C power cable and a A USB cable. Was thinking about buying 3 or 4 P series power cables (dac, amp, phono amp and streamer). But I'm afraid they will be out of budget now.

It might be the perfect time right now to snatch some of the old models to great prices! At least in Sweden some resellers are offering heavy discounts of demo models etc....
