Cleaning continuum cone stains
Hello,
I'm Andrés from Argentina.
I have the B&W 805 d3 bookshelfs, a stain appeared on one of the continuum cones, I would like to know how to clean it without damaging the material. I do not know what type of stain it is.
I would very much appreciate your comments.
Kind regards20211023_181619.jpg

Re: Cleaning continuum cone stains
Never twirl your pasta with red sauce with your fork near your speakers. Just kidding. Good luck removing the stain.

Hello Andres good morning
I´m happy to see another member from Argentina... please try to contact Wullich or maybe Space Tek from Buenos Aires I think they are official retailers for B&W in Argentina and may be they can help you.

Re: Cleaning continuum cone stains
I will go out in a limb… it looks like something left behind by an insect that chose to rest for a while on your speaker, so most likely organic in nature. If that is a carbon fiber cone, I would first just try a damp cotton swab using only water. You might also try licking a swab to get a wee-bit of saliva on it. If the stain is organic the enzymes in saliva will dissolve it.
(when I was a golfer, and the grass on my irons wouldn’t come out from the grooves, I would spit on the club face then wipe it off. Enzymes in saliva are great for dissolving organic stuff.)

Re: Cleaning continuum cone stains
Thank you very much for your messages!!
Finally I spoke with the local representative in Argentina as suggested by @Fermil and they recommended cleaning it with a multipurpose glass cleaner with a microfiber cloth and it worked !!!
Everything came out !!! Better than new !!
Haha I'm happy !!!
Given how obsessive I am with my equipment, I had been concerned.
Thank you all again for your kindness and good vibes !!
Hugs from Buenos Aires, Argentina !!

Re: Cleaning continuum cone stains
Spots appearing on the continuum cones appears to be a common problem cause of humidity. Apparently B&W are replacing it under warranty.
I guess your was some debris rather then the defect other users are having..
