Bass is WAY better Vs 802D3. Tweeter is way smoother too. Incredible with their sister company electronics: Classe’.

Hi Mike, new member here, I know this is slightly off topic but so you think Classe will release an integrated soon? Also, I have the 804 D4s and I saw your YouTube unboxing video but want know what integrated amp you've tried that pairs best with them - thoughts?

Welcome!!

To answer your question: Yes and a new SSP and multi channel amp.

I like the Luxman best with them of what we have now. 590 for sure is my fave, than 509.

Thanks Mike! Was thinking Boulder 866 because more power, good to know. Just saw the Enleum amp video you did with the 804 D4s, amazing how well it drove them!

It’s shockingly good. I say the Luxman because it’s better with low impedance dips like B&W’s have. Luxman is good to 1ohm.

I've owned three pairs of B&W 800's in my past audio life. I always felt they were the best bang for the buck in the high end speaker world. They keep hitting home runs.

They sound much better than the demo I listened to at a local audio store. The last few YouTube videos you are driving them with some pretty high end gear. Would my assumption be correct Mike they are revealing of what you feed them upstream?

Yes. They really step up given better electronics, source, cables, etc. Most importantly though, they need break in. If the other store is pounding them with some daft punk, Post Malone 24/7, then break in will take much longer. Ours haven’t stopped since we got them, except to move them.

Quick review of the new 802 D4:

- after break in, gone is the top down presentation of the D3. MUCH more of a balanced approach. Not sure if it’s the retuning of the crossover or the longer tweeter tube or both….but MUCH more to my liking now. No bite.
- bass is greatly improved, tighter and far far far more impact.
- the cabinet seems bigger, fatter, but I haven’t compared to an 802D3
- the speaker is very very well balanced top to bottom. Neutral, balanced, but extremely musical.
- midrange is very good, big and palatable.
- they work superbly with Nordost, which frankly, would have been my opposite guess, thought it might be too much of a good thing, but it’s truly not.
- the better the electronics and cables, the better they perform.

They also sound great on youtube , and yes i do know its not like the real thing.

Mike will you be carrying any of the 700 series? The finishes on the Signature series look very nice, love the blue.

No. We just don’t have the floor space.

Easy fix, buy a bigger store! I can attest you are busting at the seams. Do you ever sell your demo gear?

When we can or need to, we do. I am trying to buy the units around me.
