    The World's Most Expensive Car

Wow...I don't know their system of true evaluation (historic), but I won't get swamped by it.

    * 1955 was a good year though...worth $1,955 but not $100,000,000 ... no way José!

    What sez you?

A picture is worth a thousand words. I’ll leave it at that. Supply vs demand on assets that appreciate over the years. Well, we know the supply side of the equation on classic cars worth millions. The price will always be as much as someone is willing to pay for that rare art on wheels, on the other side of the equation.

In 1984 I bought a 62 190sl from a girl who was restoring a few cars for her boyfriend, she was the mechanic, restorer etc….
She was also working on a couple other Mercedeses, one of which was a 300sl Gullwing all aluminum (one of only 29 ever made) and told me the car was worth around $250k, in those days a regular Gullwing could be bought for around $70k, the roadster for $20k less, a Dino for around $30k…
But these all aluminum ones were made for racing and many of them were wrecked in races so only a handful had survived, I guess this is one of those survivors…

A survivor, car for hundred million dollars? Like Dave said just above; I'd take the blonde for a grand tour around the Swiss Alps.

Well, That Blonde is married, has a net worth of $17M and probably has zero interest in any aging audiophile taking her anywhere.. Sorry guys.

Re: The World's Most Expensive Car

    My mistake
as I just watched the video and this aint one of the 29 all aluminum ones, it’s rather one of only 2 SLRs ever made with a magnesium alloy body…
who and how valued it at $100 mil? I don’t have a clue as this belongs to the Mercedes museum and they don’t mention who owns the second one.
The only time I saw one of those 29 advertised was many many moons ago for $2.5 mil….

    Now,
If each of you two are sittin on a $100 million pile of cash and wondering where to park it? I’m sure you’d know better than I ever could….

But if it’s the case that the $1995 is your budget, then I’d humbly point you towards an iMac:
1- you couldn’t get far with that much dough in any of the Alps…
2- you’d probably get much much less mileage with the blonde anywhere.

That iMac will get you way farther and wider…
