Tanner Foust describes driving the new 2022 VW Golf R and GTI …

I love how he describes the new cars handling and feel.

Looks like the new VW’s are pretty advanced. I miss driving the Golf R that I had and am considering another. They won’t be available until the end of the year, probably.

The more I look, the more bang for the buck I see in these vehicles. I paid off my Subaru Forester 3 years early and am considering a second vehicle for fun.

I don’t trust myself to find something used that’s in perfect shape, regardless of make/model. Anything else I look at (BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, etc.) lands at almost twice the price or more of the VW’s. Everything else is a little too tight of a fit like the Miata or possibly the Supra.

I was all set on a Tesla, but because of all the changes that are “coming”, I’ll probably consider one in a couple of years to replace my Subaru.

Joe, you could also track down a 2017-2019 Golf Sportwagen S with 4Motion, throw a tune and R turbo on it and have a quick, all season wagon.

For what they cost vs what you get, they seem like a bit of a bargain.

There is a plenty of tuned Golf Rs and Audi RS3s in Warsaw ... with 500+hp, they are the ultimate sleepers. Almost impossible to keep up with them with any RWD car - be it McLaren of Ferrari.

One of my employees has one. I think it’s a 2021?? He loves it and has already made some mods.

I think my new car can give his a bit of a run though.

Definitely something about pretty women that know how to drive that turns an enthusiast on. That GOLF R is even more appealing now...

I remember watching this video back in the day and then I could not sleep until I found a perfect Ferrari F360 Challenge Stradale for myself! Took some time but it happened. Ferrari 360 Challange Stradale - Super Cars - YouTube
