The Tach is used to display the progress of the flash loading.

And a fun little video clip of the fully adjustable launch control.

Maybe, if we had a decent 1/4 mile track around here. All we have locally is a ragged out 1/8 mile track packed full of rednecks with mud trucks. I'd probably have to come out your way to get to a decent track and crowd. What would really be cool is a 1 mile track!

That would be a heck of a drive just to make a few passes down the 1320. But you never know...

    Re: Let's see your ride

As for my current update, I've just been driving my car on the Map 1 tune. Hopefully, if the weather is good this weekend, I'll be pulling the front clip off of my Z and installing that intake. After that, it'll be driving around doing some data logging to send to the tuner along with a couple of 3rd gear WOT pulls. Once Map 1 is squared away, I'll drive it like that for a bit until again, hopefully I can get those Motordyne ART test pipes installed next week. Once that happens and a make a couple more logs in Map 1, we'll move to Map 2 and do all of the data logging again, then move on to Map 3. Each map with increased performance and features.

After all of that, I'll hunt me down some low mileage GT-R injectors, get them installed and have a forth map created for running E85! A cooler running engine and about 20 extra hp & torque at the wheels across the entire power band just for running E85!

In the meantime, here's a little clip of me showing how easy it is to switch between maps. If you'll notice, the 4th map isn't there yet. And that 8th one... Yeah, that's valet mode. Default parameters in valet mode is a max engine speed of 3000 rpm, max speed of 50 mph and max distance of 5 miles. I can have those changed to anything I want though.

Yup, 1999 Porsche 996 Cabriolet, 115,000 miles, but never over 250 k/h....or not much. On this day in California, the road signs said to turn off the A/C, but the Porsche handled the temperatures well with no engine heating issues. FYI, my first Porsche was a 356A in 1960....see, even old folks like good sound....LOL

Oh, Porsches are not dragsters....playing games like this results in rather significant costs in clutch replacement. more LOL

Thank you, George, as always for the complements. With the intake, the ole' girl has some strong top end all the way to redline now.

I'm hoping we can get those darn cats off this Wednesday and get the Motordyne ART pipes on. That's going to be the biggest improvement, then we can finish tweaking Map 1 and move on to tweaking Map 2 & 3.

Just got word from my dealer that I may be looking at 6 or more months before I see my beautiful M2. Spent the weekend test driving other options. The only other consideration was the AMG 63. This car is fast, and quite nice looking IMO. After all was said and done my BMW dealer ended up making me an offer I could not refuse.

Brand new M3 with executive package, 19" wheels, dual M clutch, and adaptive M suspension.

Thanks George! The tires are shot, but the acceleration and suspension feels better due to these wheels weight 4 lbs and 5 lbs lighter than the base 18's they replaced. And as a bonus, I just found out that those Continental tires I'm getting are also about 4 lbs lighter than others of the same sizes as well as the base 18" tires. Nice!

Charles, I've got the Conti's on my Porsche and they are pretty good. I like the Michelin Pilot Sports better, but they wear out much faster. I've got about 30K miles on the Extremes and still have good tread depth. The Michelins were gone at 20K miles.
    Regards,
    Steve

Steve, that's what I've read about this tires, great tread life and pretty good wet/dry performance. Exactly what I need here in FL. At 285/35-19, that's a lot of meat on the ground in the rear. If and when I go with a supercharger, I'll step up the fronts to 275/35-19 and the rears to 325/30-19 (on these Nismo wheels). That's an entire rack of ribs on the pavement! LOL

A few new pics from yesterday. New tires mounted, freshly washed and group shots with two of my brothers.

The transmission in my old 93' Taurus decided to call it quits a couple weeks ago. The new ride isn't nearly as blingy as the others in this thread, but it's still a lot of fun to drive around.
