What do you do if you run out of gas on the highway? Call your AAA with your membership card so that they can bring a gaz can to you.
And if you are not a member, or that you forgot your cell phone?
Next time just make sure you have enough fuel in the gas tank before going to the Grand Canyon.
What about if you drive an EV and you ran out of charge somewhere in the middle of a desert?

By the way, what do they use to make all the plastic parts and rubber tires on EVs? Petroleum?
So now we have to buy the oil from other countries to make plastic parts for our cars made with batteries from China.

So let wipe out the cows all over the globe and hey people, pigs, horses, bear, deer, etc...etc.. fart as well, so take them out and lets see, well nobody will be here to see.
""Let’s get this out of the way: when some people hear the word “methane,” they immediately think about cow farts. (Hence stories like this, this and this). But in reality, cow burps are much more problematic: 90 to 95 percent of the methane released by cows comes out of their mouths, while 5 to 10 percent is released in the form of manure and flatulence. According to the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization, livestock — including cows, pigs, sheep and other animals — are responsible for about 14.5 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions. Cows are the primary offenders, and each animal releases 30 to 50 gallons a day on average. And with an estimated 1.3 to 1.5 billion cows on the planet, that’s a whole lot of methane. But cows aren’t the main cause of our planet’s methane problem.""2chl : Vincent Sp331MkII, W4S STP-SE Stage 2, Kef 201/2, KEF 140, Vapor Breeze, Lumin, Bryston CD, BHA-1, Quicksilver Headamp, HD650, HD800s, HD820's, Dan Clark 1.1, Focal Stellia, OPPO 203, 105. Israeli companies are in the forefront of this technology. Obviously this is not GMO free, lol!
There is one company already extracting heme from soy to mimic red meat color and also provides the savory flavor as well.
There will be legislation coming down the road, where anything GMO will be forced to have a big sticker on the package.

My point was not really about the change itself, but the fake reasons why and what it will do to the US economy if Mandated.

Mike is contemplating to become an auto dealer for Porsche.
...For McLaren and Mercedes too?
Back to earth; it's getting hot on the wet coast. EV is the way to go, no doubt, no drought.
And forget the cows; lots of methane leaks from the land.
Too many fires not enough water ...
* I might become vegetarian too; when we won't be able to grow cows anymore because it's too dry, we can't give them water to drink, or that they'll be gone (burned by the fires).
Not enough mooses and bears to feed the planet.
We have to stop dropping toxic radioactive nuclear wastes and plastics into our oceans or the fishes we eat will kill us.
It's no easy times the ones we're all living right now. EV is only one aspect of the entire food chain...way of speech. Pollution falling on our food is no good for our health.
Canada is the next agricultural land to replace the California one.

Without water California is a desert where you can no longer grow food.
Water is the issue, the droughts, the brown yellow fields dying, the forests burning...not the batteries for EV.
It's not Californian's fault, it's climate change. It can even affect where EV batteries are made and their components.
Chips shortage in EV's production are affected by Delta (Corona); that's different.~ Bob ~

Re: EV Cars
No that's too much logic... We can't have logic these days, we need drama and virtue signaling instead. We need to ban things without thinking it through first. No more ICE period... by a certain date we will ban them because "we" said so, logic and actual proof of theory be damned.
Notice we are not striving towards driving a smaller, more compact and efficient gasoline cars that can easily get 40 plus mpg. No, no, we need a big SUV while nodding in unison that electrification is the future. Tesla wants to give you that big pickup with a bazzilion gigawatt power plant. Tesla wants to give you land rockets with sub 2 second zero to sixty times because that makes sooo much sense in the quest to save the planet. We can do that with our faces pulled back screaming YAAAAHOOOO while punching that pedal down, GO TESLA!!!
I've given up the CDs that are made of petrochemical crap like Bisphenol A, I've given up vinyl that is also made of petrochemicals and chlorine, I've gone green and "stream" instead and I ride motorcycles that can easily get over 40 mpg. Now leave me and my "dinosaur juice" ICE toys alone....

I still want a Tesla, but will wait after December/January to see what’s coming. I just read about a longer range model Y possibly in the works.
The range takes the biggest hit in the winter, but my commuting distance is pretty stable at 80-100 miles per day. Several coworkers have Teslas and they would buy again in a heartbeat despite a few little minor fit and finish issues.
We’ll see. I have time and besides my Subaru, which I actually love and probably will keep, there’s only a few other vehicles that I could see in my garage.Last edited by joeinid; August 20, 2021 at 12:01 AM.
