    Aurender N30

The Aurender N30 looks like a nice component. Here’s a link to the owner’s manual, complete with pictures.

I don’t recall where I saw them, but someone posted some ‘under the hood’ photos of the N30. It’s a real engineering masterpiece.

These were posted here some time ago. There was a link to an Asian website featuring the new unit.

I spoke with Aurender USA following that post. At that time they weren’t sure they would bring the N30 to the US market. Now, seeing the owner’s manual in English is encouraging. Aurender N30

Based on the Owner’s Manual photos, it looks like the power supply, SSD or HDD storage and readout screen are in the top chassis and the clocking and digital output modules are in the bottom chassis. I would surmise that this combination results in maximum noise reduction.

Ken, you’re on the right track here. Aurender confirmed the “computer stuff” is in one chassis, the “audio stuff” resides in the other.

That build starts to make more sense creating separation, and IMO does not take all that much to create. With all respect, their chassis build is simple, no need for a screen on the second box, and the electronics are already a part of it, maybe $15,000 after seeing the N20 is $12,000.

Mike, as an Aurender expert, which power cords are you using for the N20/N10?
Also, I was wondering if the W20SE with it’s internal battery benefits from a high class power cord as it‘s smaller brothers do?!

We are using the AQ Dragon Source because in that room, it’s all AQ (except for the Ethernet and USB). I haven’t really thought about the W20SE being any different, I would be using the right cable for my budget and system. Omega NR, Alpha v2 would be used or the new Venom Digital on a N100/N10 if it was in the Shunyata room.

    Re: Aurender N30

Great, so I‘ll aim for the Alpha NR v2 (using an Everest) then for my N100... the Omega QR would be the upgrade Budget to N20 alone. Does the extra gauge of a Sigma improve anything vs Alpha for these low current devices?

Waiting for the comparison (and price) of N20/N30 on which to pick. Although I find the N20 more elegant and the N30 a bit bulky.

Regarding the latest firmware update: Is this something that benefits the N20 as well or did it move the W20SE more ahead?

There should be zero benefit from an upgraded power cord on the W20 or W20SE as it runs entirely on battery power except when it’s charging. Use the stock cord that comes with the unit. The money saved on an upgraded power cord on a N20 or N30 could be put towards the upgrade to a W20SE.

Me: “Is there a benefit to using any after market power cord on the W20SE?”

Aurender: “there is still a benefit, but certainly less than other Aurender’s.”

    Re: Aurender N30

Looks like the N-30SA is available. The Suncoast Audio June 3rd Edition letter includes the following information:

    Aurender-N30SA $24,400.00

Inheriting Aurender's unique next-generation family design identity, the N30SA is visually distinguished by both its dual-chassis form factor and wide-screen full-color LCD display first seen on the A30 and N20. At first glance, you immediately notice its substantial presence, elegance, and grace – a visual metaphor of what to expect sonically. However, N30’s audiophile essence also lies within its inner beauty. N30SA takes its hardware and circuit topology innovations first explored on the N20 to its empirical conclusion. N30SA goes above and beyond the N20 in terms of noise and jitter reduction, increased dynamics, and uncompromised purity of the audio signal.

    Hi George,

I would say yes, based on the price. The N30SA MSRP is $24,400 versus the W20SE MSRP of $22,000.

Yes. Don’t forget about the new N200. We have one on order too. Reportedly beats the N10 and nips at the heels of the N20. Two user installed storage (ie 2 x 8TB SSD’s)

The N30 comes with one 8TB SSD and one bay available for a second one. It also comes with two umbilical cords - one short - like 0.5m and the other long at about 1.5m. The technology in the N20 takes it to a whole new level.

We have a demo N30 coming as well. We’ve already pre-sold several N30’s. As we learn that the network transport is as important as the DAC, a product like the N30 can take digital playback to a whole new level of natural sound (Aurender N30).

With a new version of conductor planned for Q3/Q4 this year, Aurender is on a roll!
