    Aurender - Internet Radio

For the first time, I played the internet radio option on the N10 (I wonder if each model offers this through Conductor?) listening to BBC 1 - 6, and a Seattle station KEXP, honestly, I liked it from sound quality and a variety of music.

Has anyone experienced this, if so, what is your impression?

    Aurender - Internet Radio

I used to like the Linn radio stations when I had a Linn streamer.

Nowadays they are available also on other streamers, just listening to it via Nyquist and Roon. Just enter the url and off you go.

While music is nice, it is 320 kbps mp3. So Tidal Hi-Fi is quite a bit better SQ.

    Re: Aurender - Internet Radio

I listen to Internet radio all the time as background music. I did like the choices from Naim over those from Aurender, especially a Classical music station from England and Bluegrass from the USA.

I recently started using internet radio through my T+A MP3100HV. The variety is excellent. Agreed , good for casual listening...

    Re: Aurender - Internet Radio

So, if I am correct to understand, the N10 can also stream all radio stations available on the internet? What about Amazon Prime?
Might this replace a tuner? Right now, my tuner has better fidelity than listening to the streamed station via my MacBook. Anyone know if the N100 series can do this too? Also, not sure what conductor is.

Thanks from a guy slowly taking the next step.

The N10 cannot stream ALL internet stations. It streams stations available through Shoutcast.com. The Aurender App (Conductor) shows the top 500. You can stream music from Tidal and Qobuz (where supported). You can transfer music from a NAS Share or a USB storage device to the N10 hard drives and stream it from there. The N100 models provide similar function.

Noisy computers (modified or not) can never match the sound quality of high quality streamers. Go to the Aurender website to see the functions supported by the various streamer models. Note that only one model (A10) has a built-in DAC. Otherwise, you need to provide an external DAC.

If you live in the US and was in the military, Tidal will give you a 40% discount. Tidal will provide millions of high quality tracks to choose from. I don't like most of the music on Tidal because I'm from an older generation but I have never had a problem finding music I like. I checked to see if there was a Willie Nelson album on Tidal and found there were more than 120 of them including the rare album I was interested in.

The Conductor App is outstanding and runs on IOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod).

You are welcome John. Good luck.
BTW, a million years ago I acquired a new Mac C20 and a new Mac MC 225. The first audio equipment I didn’t build from a kit. It’s also the first stereo equipment I ever owned. I had to buy another speaker and a stereo phono cartridge.

As a matter of fact, Aurender can stream all radio stations. The only condition is that you know the web address of the stream. You can add it via favourites in the Conductor app (iPad only). I have added my favourite local stations and Radio Swiss jazz like that. It is enough to enter the *.pls web address of your station and Aurender will play it.

Could you give us an example of the URL format for one of the stations you are listening to? I’m having trouble getting it right.

    Amazon prime music playback?
You can stream (via Bluetooth) from, day, an Amazon Echo to a Bluetooth device. You can also connect an Amazon Echo Dot to a device (via Analog connection).
But looking at the specs for the N10, I do not see BT capability or analog inputs.

Perfect. Thank you! Now I’ll find out what I need to use for Classic FM in England.

Nice station, worked fine. Now listening to Classic FM out of England. The only reason I kept my Naim Mu-So was for some favorite Internet Stations. My big system sounds much better.
