    Re: Aurender drop out problem

It appears that Aurender customer service is suffering. I can remember not to long ago that they would respond to inquires within 24 hours. Very sad. I own the N100H but would have to reconsider purchasing another Aurender product if customer service is declining.

I’m very happy to hear that Mike. I’ve only had to contact Aurender once and their response back was around 12 hours.

    Re: Aurender drop out problem

So an update on my issue... Aurender was extremely supportive and we were able to fix the issue... It required some program modification on their end. The n100sc has both a USB and SPDIF (Coax) connection. The unit was originally programmed to down sample the higher bitrate files into something that could be played through the SPDIF connection. That was being done even when nothing was connected to the SPDIF output. This was really pushing the processor and was causing the brief pausing in playback (i.e. the dropout). According to Aurender I was the first one to bring up this issue. The fix will be rolled forward to all users of the N100 with the coax output. My guess is that if you are planning on using the coax output it simply will not play higher bitrate files through that connection. Anyway... The issue was fixed and I am happy.

    Re: Aurender drop out problem

I am curious if anyone else with the N100SC or N100C received a software update for their Aurender yesterday. I upgraded to version 5.21.309. Dropouts are not a problem. hopefully this was pushed to all.

    Re: Aurender drop out problem

I was hoping to get feedback from N10 owners.

It seems the SPDIF downsampling on/off option has been added to the app.

In the meantime, it seems that powering the N10 off and on again have solved the issue. I have transferred 2TB of music in one go, which must have somehow upset the N10 system.

BTW - 5TB Seagate Barracuda 2.5" drives work great in N10, giving 10TB of total storage. Just upgraded the original 2+2TB drives.

    Re: Aurender drop out problem

I also have upgraded the RAM to 8GB as sugested in this thread (the new N20 comes with 8 GB RAM standard). Not sure it makes any difference - I have ordered one before I did the full restart which solved the problem - but certainly does not hurt.

The RAM stick that has been originally used was Samsung DDR3 4GB PC3L 12800S. I bought the very same model, but 8GB. It was $35, so a no brainer really.

Anyway - after the full restart and with upgraded memory, no more playback issues.
