    PC's "Simply Better" System

An audio buddy's recent comment praising small systems really rang true for me, so with the arrival of my new Core Audio racks last week, thought I'd post a pic of my current system.

Going with the Constellation Inspiration integrated and Lumin P1 really let me simplify my system considerably from it's previous configuration (was able to remove 15 pieces of gear from main rack alone), and now with the arrival of my Core Audio racks, it's even simpler as I no longer need the Butcher Block Acoustics maple and IKEA Aptitlig bamboo cutting boards, and all the frickin' footers including Stillpoints, EVPs, HRS Nimbus Couplers, Herbie's Tenderfeet & square fat dots, ay me! 😜

With my new Core Audio racks, now, I just place the component on the rack shelf, and "job done", as the Brits say.

Linn's philosophy all these years of "Simply Better" really is true.

    Cheers, gents

Yep, "simple" is good. Linn and Nelson have had it right all these years...

The TT's height isn't a problem for me; my back's still pretty flexible, and I also generally kneel when putting on and cleaning an LP. Also, I don't use the TT that much anymore, but I've kept it because I have a library of about 300 or LPs that are not available via digital disc or streaming, including this wonderful recording...

Moreover, in my system, I've found that a lower, "double-wide" rack sounds better than a taller rack when the rack is positioned between the speakers. It also looks nicer, IMHO.

    Cheers.

Here's some close-up shots of the new rack and components...the figured maple shelves match the Resonant Woods stands for the 'Beths.

Thanks, Mark. I’m very happy with them. Was glad that Arnold Marr of Core Audio was able to make them in figured maple to match the speaker stands.

And Arnold is a gem of a guy. Core Audio is under the radar IMHO. Terrific products and beautifully built.

I would encourage anyone who is in need to audio racks, isolation platforms, or speaker stands to give him a call (he told me this was his preferred method of communication after a slow reply to my email inquiry).

Yes, could not agree with you more. Especially about Arnold being a gem of a guy. We've become good friends and he's actually got my First Sound preamp to try out.

Thanks, gents. Not only does it make the system sound better, but it's very nice to look at and beautifies the space. That it also matches the color and tones of the Harbeths and Resonant Woods stands is an unplanned "plus", as well. There are nice complementary colors and tones going on.

    Cheers.
