I cannot understand why Altec built a speaker so low. Does not make any sense.

Paul - I have a whole room full of gear no one buys! R2R tape decks, horns and SET amps. Not sure what I'll do if someone actually calls me up and says, "Mike, I'm looking for a 2 watt SET amp, what do you suggest?" I may faint.

    Paul

Did you get the stands built and if so how high did you raise them from the floor. Also I agree it is not about the price of the component but the quality and the execution of what the design intended. Just as in the past plenty of fairly priced quality pieces are available if you just ignore the noise and look. There are more than a few of those companies that are close to you.

    Hi Jack.

The stands didn't happen last week. .

We are building the stands as about 9 " to 10" see if that works

Sounds good Paul, enjoy the exploration into something new. I have gone through a similar thing with the Spatial's. I ordered them for the 60 day trial just to see what the fuss was about with open baffle speakers and found out I really like them and they stayed and something else left. Finding something new and unexpected is always good especially if it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

I've got the M3 Turbo S model, but he is supposed to announce a new model in the next month between them and the Lumina Statements like Mike had. Don't know if I will be willing to do that for a second system as for now the Nola KO's are staying put in the main system.

Beautiful Air Tight gear. I do believe they make the best looking audio equipment along with Audio Note Japan and Luxman. The ATC 2 is one of my favorite pieces of audio gear at any price point. Will never sell mine.

    Paul that's a beautiful system!

I'm actually looking to purchase a pair of harbeth shl5 plus. I noticed you have Mac setup with your Harbeth speakers. What's the sound like? I listen mostly to jambands and rock. I've considering going with the mc152 and c2600. Do you think that would be a match? I love those blue lights!

    Thanks for the photos!

    Hi Paul,
I did not know that you took the plunge on the 2301's. Congrats ! They are excellent amps. Although on most speakers the little 225 is just much better....:lmao:
How do you like the Overture ? I wanted to try one a few years ago.
But I am no more into spending fortunes in hifi.
