Paul's Systems...Before and After.
BTW, my Altecs are in the living room for a try out. They sound delightful. I may order a pair of VOTT to my friend for the music room.
I would also like to hear a "Petite Onken". It uses the 414 in an Onken charge. With a Tad 2001 compression and a "Le Dauphin" horn. One of the very best multicellular wood horn.

Here are my Altecs in the living room :
And I am left in the music room with the fabulous LS3/5a 15 ohms Falcons ! The Shindo amps do love them a lot and my ears too !
The great Altecs are finally just very big LS3/5a's !!
Those Falcons are true jewels in the audio world. Of course I prefer my Altecs. But the Falcons have their strengths too.

Re: Paul's Systems...Before and After.
Paul
Did you get the stands built and if so how high did you raise them from the floor. Also I agree it is not about the price of the component but the quality and the execution of what the design intended. Just as in the past plenty of fairly priced quality pieces are available if you just ignore the noise and look. There are more than a few of those companies that are close to you.Main - JVC QL-Y7/Denon DL-301 Mk II, Gold Note PH-10, Jays CDT3 Mk3 , Auralic Aries G2.2, Holo May KTE, Supratek Cabernet, Kinki Studio EX-B7 monoblocks, Verity Audio Otello, (2) Rythmik F12SE, Audio Envy IC, SC & PC's, Triode Wire Lab PC's, Inakustik USB and I2S, (2) Puritan Audio Labs PSM-156 with Groundmaster City, Timbernation rack

Re: Paul's Systems...Before and After.
Sounds good Paul, enjoy the exploration into something new. I have gone through a similar thing with the Spatial's. I ordered them for the 60 day trial just to see what the fuss was about with open baffle speakers and found out I really like them and they stayed and something else left. Finding something new and unexpected is always good especially if it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Re: Paul's Systems...Before and After.
I've got the M3 Turbo S model, but he is supposed to announce a new model in the next month between them and the Lumina Statements like Mike had. Don't know if I will be willing to do that for a second system as for now the Nola KO's are staying put in the main system.

Re: Paul's Systems...Before and After.
Paul that's a beautiful system!
I'm actually looking to purchase a pair of harbeth shl5 plus. I noticed you have Mac setup with your Harbeth speakers. What's the sound like? I listen mostly to jambands and rock. I've considering going with the mc152 and c2600. Do you think that would be a match? I love those blue lights!
Thanks for the photos!
