tweeters and mids are fully adjustable on Die Musik, one of the many plusses to these speakers.

Norman. Totally agree with you. Every little thing makes different Eh ? When I had an old chair I did try to sit higher and lower but didn't hear this much difference though.

Different materials (seat, chair, couch, ...), different acoustical properties, and different resulting listening sessions.

And true Dan, with 'The Musik' loudspeakers you can aim the essential part of the audio spectrum exactly where you want to be directed to. ...Same with Wilson Audio loudspeakers.

    * Actually you can do that with any loudspeaker; all of them! ...Different size of spikes on the front and rear; tilting them downward or upward. ...And the same with small monitors.

    Yes, Very true Bob.

★ I don't think you can swivel the Wilson Audio speakers Just tilt up and down if I'm not mistaken.

That's only one of the reasons I prefer more Vienna Acoustics The Music loudspeaker.
...Their appearance too (looks) with that gorgeous wood finish. ...Simply I prefer 'The Music's overall design and luxury wood finish.

The sound? Who cares? ...Money? Same.
    {Besides, 'The Music' does music extremely faithfully, with verve, and it costs much less than Wilson's similar caliber speaker.}

    * Love to be able to post little stars though.

    Re: BlueMcIntosh's Systems...Before and After.

    Devore 3XL's are in.

6moons audio reviews: DeVore Fidelity 3XL

    3XL

"The DeVore 'sound' is intoxicating and once you've experienced it, you'll never look at art or music the same way again." Dennis Russo, The Trades
"I went bananas over the bamboo, aesthetically and sonically. There's splendor in this grass." Sam Tellig, Stereophile Magazine
"Gibbon 3XL is an impressive sounding two-way standmount. The sound was unforced, with top-octave ease and space galore on the snare-drum rimshots. Cymbals in particular had superbly natural texture and HF extension." John Atkinson, Stereophile.com
"In conclusion the DeVore Fidelity Gibbon 3XL is an extraordinary speaker of refinement, power, projection, delicacy, nuance and detail." Ken Micallef, 6moons.com
"The sound was what I have come to expect from DeVore speakers: energetic, easy to listen to, detailed but without harshness, and with outstanding bass for a speaker of its size." Laurence Borden, Stereotimes.com
"DeVore Fidelity Gibbon 3XL Speakers: Amazing sound from a small pair of stand-mounted speakers. Utilizing the tweeter unit from its top-of-the-line Silverback Reference speakers, and a new, 5-inch paper woofer all in a terrific-looking, solid bamboo enclosure (very green), John DeVore has created a wonderful sounding small speaker. They produced some of the best, musical sounds at the show."Thestreet.com
"The sound here was exceptionally good with outstanding detail, transparency and dynamics…all without the slightest hint of irritation." Enjoythemusic.com
"Stepping into the DeVore Fidelity room was like stepping back in time to the mid-1960's — at least visually. The sound was thoroughly modern and among the Best Rooms at the show." EnjoyTheMusic.com

    Hi Paul,

Wow, the setup is looking just awesome!

When I saw the Gibbon 3XL Speakers at RMAF this year sitting off to the side of the room (didn't hear them as the O96 were playing at the time), they were perched on the bamboo stands. Man, they are beautiful speakers especially when paired with their matching stands.

Did you purchase the 3XL's or are you demo'ing them?

    Dude, that is righteous!

Play some tracks with some heavy bass to get those woofers loosened up and then grab some Monk, some wine and sit back and enjoy!

Looks great Paul. You done good! Love the bamboo.

So detailed very transparency and dynamics. Quiet amazed for its size. However I think my audio room is just too big for them. Will try on my bedroom later

    Paul, I am not surprised.
I think that like the Gibbon 8 series, they need to be close to the front wall or the bass just vanishes.
You heard how magic they are in the treble and the mids ? The more I listen to my Super 8's driven by the McIntosh MC225, the more I'm in love with them...

Yes Jerome. The Tweeter ( share same tweeter as their top of the line : SilverBack ) is just amazing. I hear more detail on every music I throw in.
I've been spoke with John Devore few times via email and he's been very kind and helpful.
The Silverback , Gibbon series are more fall in to Audiophile speakers it seems and you can pair with different amps to get different sounds easily but the O/93 and 96 are different. they are musical speakers and they will work with any amps with beautiful music presentation. ( will miss some hairy detail on high ) -which John also agreed -
I was almost purchased the Super 8's but on second thought I prefer the look of 3XL better ( and knowing that I wouldn't be happy either on bass department anyway ) thinking to pair them with small sub ( maybe REL ) and it will be superb sound for sure.

Am I going to keep it ? Probably ....for my smaller room however I still need more musical speakers so probably end up with either O/96 , Harbeth SHL5 or M40.1.

Remember I sold my PMC IB2i speakers in nearly brand new ? that was the only reason I sold it. They were excellent speakers but I didn't need two big audiophile speakers in my home. So far I'm very happy with my VA Music speakers in that department and they are here to stay.
