LMAO! No. She helps when she can and until all my friends had knee surgeries, heart attacks and the like, I had help. Now, I have "a guy" who brings another "guy" and they do the heavy lifting.

My limit is about 100 pounds on my own. Any more than that and I have to get some help.

Dan....PMC IB2i's - I'm really enjoying listen to them as well. They are different than any other speakers I ever owned. It really makes me feel like I'm in studio. Anyway I would love to bring down my ref speakers and compare with them.

I should have mentioned "in the whole world".
Even before I've read the other posts that's what I was going to add, but then even better.

Paul, I'm not asking for pictures; I know you enough, I think.

And pictures of your back being massaged by your message therapist (a pretty young woman perhaps) would be a bonus.

    Re: BlueMcIntosh's Systems...Before and After.

My friend came to my home with his ASC bass traps ( 2 X 16" , 2 X 11" , 2X 9" ) and tried in my system. ( Coz I really didn't want to spend the $ 3,000 on these expensive bass traps without trying ) I was really hoping to work  ...Nah...Didn't do much things It helped on mid and high but the problem with bass was still there...

I talked with another person and he recommended to purchase the" Roxul" so I did. Went out to home depot and go to home dumped behind my speakers and listened for a 10 mins.

Seems like these one is working ( even vinyl cover is on ) I will update the results.

So again the expensive stuffs are NOT always better than cheaper ones. YMMV.

The 9's and 11's really don't do much below 100hZ if anything!!......the 16's do but only having two of them won't get you much, you really need 8-10 if you want to make headway. Another thing to try is locating the gear and speakers to a different wall if you can and then try the ASC again. exhaust all options it will be worth it.

I know......but it sure seems like a bargain when we add up what we have invested in gear.

    Hey Paul,

I have 10 ASC traps along the front wall alone: 5x16" and 5x13" sitting on top of them, with another 6 floating around the room (1st and 2nd reflection points, rear corners). I haven't tried taking the traps out and listening without them, but with them I don't seem to have any large bass problems. Not perfect, but no problems either. I'm going to look at other treatments for the front wall (Vicoustics, RPG) and then look to bring some of the traps in the rear wall.

    Like you said, YMMV.

On a side note, thanks for posting the Roxul stuff. My room is in the basement with a drop ceiling. You can easily hear music on the first floor when I crank it. Wonder if this would be better than pure fiberglass insulation.

Jeff, any experience or opinion on the Roxul stuff for the ceiling?

    cheers

Roxol 'R' rating is advertised a bit better along with fire resistance but costs more and its a mess to work with. Fiber Glass insulation is cheaper, more ready available to the consumer, more itchy and it easier to work with. Both are good if installed correctly, Its a pick your poison thing really. if your leaking sound to the upper floors Insulation isn't really the proper material to use, it insulates not soundproofs.

Here are a few examples of different methods for soundproofing ceilings http://www.soundisolationcompany.com...proof-ceilings

Just remember when you soundproof your sealing the room from leaking sound, it remains in the room especially low freq......so more attention may be needed in other areas like walls, floors and more trapping. The key is to find balance.
