    Jay's System

    The wife's at yoga, so it's just me and my pup having a Pink Floyd Saturday morning. I finally have about 30 hours on a full tube replacement in the amp (Ayon KT88sx's and Ayon supplied 1960 RFT ECC82's), and the magic is back! Also installed recently isa Groovetracer Reference Subplatter on the Rega P5 and Nordost AC Sort Kones under the plinth. I'm always surprised when the noise floor drops; you don't know it's there until it's gone. I can't wait to get into my new house where I can run some dedicated lines with high quality outlets

    haha...so strange that it uploaded upside down. on my pc the picture was correct. If you click the picture after enlarging it, it switched to right-side up. And Joe's version is a mirror image which is strange to see for some reason.

    Thanks for all the nice comments. My dog, riley, loves jazz but tends to leave the room when I put on rock. He was on his way out as the heartbeat intro to DSOTM came on

    Nice system Jay
    André - - - Keep it simple system
    Amp = Chord CPM-2600
    Source = Chord One
    Speakers = Acoustat 1+1s highly modified
    Life without Acoustat is possible BUT senseless.

    Re: Jay's System

    Congrats on your very nice looking system Jay! The Nola Reference speakers are beautifully finished & look great. I advocate having tubes somewhere in the mix with ribbon drivers. That looks like a comfy room to sit back and spin some vinyl or put on a dvd at the end of the working day!

    Cheers,

    Re: Jay's System

    Hey Joe - Just saw this. The rig has changed quite a bit from the pictures in this thread, but has been stable for about a year (see my signature). Hegel + Revel is a great combo for me right now. I've been playing around with a beaglebone black to replace my squeezebox but haven't really had the time to get it going. I may just pull the trigger on a Lumin. Is everyone still loving theirs? I also need to get an enclosed rack to keep my 13 month old daughter's fingers off the volume knob. She loves to turn it up! Any recomendations on that front would be welcome.

    Congratulations Jay,

    I knew about the amp/preamp/speaker change. Can't believe your daughter is 13 months old already. Glad you're happy with the change.

    Hi Jay, in just getting up to speed with your recent changes. I think you've gone for some great value gear which punches well above its weight. I know Joe loved his Studio 2's & I'm a fan of the Hegels amps. Big congrats!

    Jay, it's nice to see another fan of the Hegel/Salon 2 combo.

    The Lumin A1 works better with the Revels than the S1, it just has a better synergy.
