With the MC2301s firmly in control, I Think I am done. At the very least content.

Holy crap! What a system!! 2301's are incredible amps. Paired with Strads = heaven.

Craig,

Did you really have to post a photo too? OMG! Looks beautiful. I think I know EXACTLY what you are hearing and I know how wonderful it sounds. Congratulations!

Congratulations. That is a excellent system you have pulled together and with the effort you put into the room should make for a very satisfying musical experience.

Congrats on the superb space -- I can see that listening would be an absolute pleasure given the top notch equipment. May I ask what are the dimensions of this room?

Beautiful - is the other seat still available? Could join you to listen in with that amazing setup. No wonder you are happy :).

The room is 13'8"W X 19'6"L X 7'6"H. JUST big enough for this equipment. It has its challenges on the low end and that is why the Fathom and MEN220 are here. I would prefer to have a simpler system without them but they earn their keep!

Well....Sonus Faber Stradivari adorned with Vicoustic Wavewood panel ears powered by McIntosh Mc2301s must be one of the most beautiful setups I have ever seen.

Fabulous synergistic choices.

If you think you are REALLY done with that setup, then I believe you to be correct.

great set-up & lovely room. good to see the effort and joy from the pics.

Woah, Forgot about this post.

A great deal has changed since my naive comment on being done. Retirement, moving 800 miles south, and countless changes to my system. Only a couple of Wireworld Platinum Starlight Power Cords survive from that ‘I am done’ proclamation. I have learned a lot over this time about room setup, sub integration and digital signal processing. Wonder how much more I will learn over the next 5 years?

Not sure I enjoy the music anymore today than I did six years ago. But I do enjoy my system and this hobby more. That’s not a contradiction. My system is so much more revealing and shows any incremental reductions in noise, better listener or speaker positions and changes to any equipment or cables that I have grown even more interested in the hobby of sound reproduction.

I can sit and just listen and enjoy music or I can test different changes, tweaks or equipment. It is a more fulfilling hobby to me.

Today, I broke out 2 pairs of older speakers while having two friends visit. We listened to music on my 40 yr old Infinity RS-IIa and nearly 20 yr old Revel Performa F-52 speakers. No doubt my system into the Kharmas yields the most realistic sound but there is also no doubt the Revels, which surprised us all, and the vintage Infinities were not embarrassed.

Spinning vinyl on my cheap ass analog front end into the Infinities had us all thinking dorm rooms. It was simply fun. The Revels had us all thinking why we had spent so much $ on our respective speaker systems. They are amazing.

Anyway, it was a fun day with friends, great music, better than average sound and something to hope to reproduce again.
