Audioquest Niagara 7000 & Dragon High Current power cable
Audioquest Niagara 7000 & Dragon High Current power cable.
I really like my Audioquest 7000 power conditioner. I have owned it for about 2 years. I saw an opportunity to buy a used Audioquest Dragon power cord, so I purchased it and hope to have it next week.
I am expecting big things with this combo, can anyone share any thoughts or experience with this combo?
Thank you,
ozzy

What 'big things' are you expecting ? What will you be using the Dragon power cord on ? Will it be replacing a stock cord ?
Cheers ! …. Dave

Mikeado463,
Actually it will be replacing a DIY cable.

My DIY power cord was modeled after the Dragon.
It utilizes pure 10 gauge .9999 solid silver with Furutech NCF connectors.

Re: Audioquest Niagara 7000 & Dragon High Current power cable
I have the Audioquest Dragon HC power cord from the wall to the Audioquest Niagara 5000 power conditioner.
Also a Dragon Source from the 5000 to my EMM Labs DV2.
Love it!

Re: Audioquest Niagara 7000 & Dragon High Current power cable
I just received the Dragon power cord.
Question:
It sure looks alot like the Hurricane I used to have. The only difference that I can tell is the connectors have the name Dragon on it. Since this was used, would it be possible to just change the connectors and sell the Hurricane as a dragon? It did not include the original box or papers.. hmmm, suspicious me...
Anyway, first listen and it does not have the bloated bass that the Hurricane had, and the left/right and soundstage does seem to be deeper than my previous reference cable.
Though it is used it looks fairly new and I suppose I still need to break it in.

You can always remove the plug end to verify if the cord is all Copper or Silver+Copper

After speaking to Audioquest, the Hurricane cable has a bluer/grayer jacketing while the Dragon is jet black.
So, it looks like I got the authentic Dragon!
I must say now that it has been energized for a few hours it is really starting to sound good.

Re: Audioquest Niagara 7000 & Dragon High Current power cable
Today, the Audioquest Dragon power cord is really meshing with the Audioquest Niagara 7000.
Surprising that even though the power cord was used it still took a few days to perform.
Very happy with this combo.

Re: Audioquest Niagara 7000 & Dragon High Current power cable
First it was burgandy/black, then blue/black. If you have solid black, that would be a third iteration. I'd be surprised if it was solid black under strong lighting.
That would be cause for quite a bit of confusion unless there are changes to the entire lineup of power cables.Christian

The Dragon is black black if that makes sense. I think the Hurricane can be more of a greyish/blue black.

I upgraded the power supply on my Gigafoil v4 to a Weiss PSU 102. It’s very nice step up. But with the new model, you’re looking at $2000 before even investing in a SOTA linear power supply.
