Audio Research @ Alma Music and Audio!
Alma Music and Audio is very proud to announce our new product line: Audio Research!
Audio as a hobby tends to create legends, because it is, by nature, a very passionate affair. People get attached to products they’ve had long relationships with, and those products, in turn, become legends.
And we’re very proud to now represent one of the true legends in this hobby, Audio Research! As one of the oldest continually operating companies in American high-end audio, Audio Research earned its place in history, with many successful products over its 40 years of existence, many of them that are now true classics.
Because of that prestigious history, and the belief that we, as a dealer, must offer a complete yet cohesive portfolio of products and assembled systems, we’re extremely happy to be able to represent Audio Research in our region!
We have currently some products available for demonstrations, such as the Reference 6 preamp and the GSi75 integrated amp, and more will come in the near future! Here is the entire product line!
Please contact us for more information or an audition!
Thanks,

Re: Audio Research @ Alma Music and Audio!
Thanks, guys!
Maybe we've just picked the right components to start, but the pairing ARC 75SE and Reference 6 preamp is magical over here! On the YG Carmel 2s, it's providing a true "walk in" soundstage!
cheers,
alex

Re: Audio Research @ Alma Music and Audio!
Congrats on picking up ARC. I know you'll do them justice and with the void left behind by previous dealer, the ARC franchise has a strong following in SD it should do well for you. I never heard YG paired with ARC, I'm looking forward to hearing that combo.

Re: Audio Research @ Alma Music and Audio!
Hi Rob!
We were going to wait until the "big iron" (Ref 150/250) arrived to pair ARC with YG. But we heard so many good things about the Ref 75SE amp, so we had to order on... And what do you know? It copes well with the (small) YG Carmel 2!
You're welcome to stop by and check them out!
cheers,
Alex

Re: Audio Research @ Alma Music and Audio!
I made a quick video with my iPhone (7 Plus) to show the Ref 75SE+Ref 6 playing the YG Carmel 2s. Some people seem to think they have no bass, and I beg to differ. It's just a matter of properly setting them up.
Bass was incredible, and that's with a 75W amp. You can see the phone wobble in its stand as the bass notes hit...
cheers,
Alex

Re: Audio Research @ Alma Music and Audio!
Yeah we got such good results in our store, that we decided to show the Carmel 2s with ARC at the LA Audio Show, and in spite of the challenging room, we got them to sing! People were looking for a hidden subwoofer behind the Aqua banner...

Does anyone have experience with these new cables yet? In particular, I am curious how the Theta line compares to the Venom-X. Thanks in advance.
