Assume you have a plan to hide the cables out of sight.

That is simple enough. Cardboard box material custom-cut and rattle-can spray painted flat black to make back panels for the AV rack. Keeps inside of cabinet dark and ugly rear-panel wires plumb outta sight! I used brown box material already to make back panels on the older Sauder rack in one of my photos which see. I will use small wood screws on the back to make the panels removable. A cardboard rear panel for each and every shelved component for easy rear access. Little square holes will be at the bottom center of the back panels for the cables to pass through.
