    Beautiful Isolation Platform

Wanted to give a heads up to fellow Audioshark pals....I have many platforms (Symposium, maple butcher blocks, quadraspire, etc) and I have to say the one I am most impressed with is a craftsman made piece that is made of wood and cork. Photos below. The proprietor creates these amazingly beautiful and absolutely inert platforms in an ingenious fashion. My knuckle rapping test shows it is more solid and vibration resistant than my best platforms. Perfect for turntables, amps, cd players. And look at how much it comes with (spikes, discs, isolation blocks to go under component, etc.). Hard to describe how professionally finished this is as in person it is like a fine piece of furniture...makes my quadraspire shelves look like they were made in a high school shop class. I will buy more of these...actually wondering if Mike (the owner) will make me a rack! Anyone interested pls PM me and I will share his email contact information (company is Woodsage). If Cardas and Ayre decided to go into fine woodwork for platforms etc, this is what that combo would look like.

Here is the description of the platform:

isolation platform made from the same constrained layer materials as our isolation blocks. This platform differs from our usual platforms in two ways. It is ½” thicker overall with a total thickness of 2-1/2” and it has solid hardwood edges, fiured maple with a nice light to medium figure.
It consists of a middle layer of 2” thick Baltic Birch plywood (34 ply void free) sandwiched between two layers of very durable 1/4" vinyl-ized cork (which contains linseed oil, granulated cork, resin binders and dry pigments) for a total of 36 vibration killing layers.
The cork makes a durable non-skid surface that gives slightly.
Both the cork and the edges have a polyurethane finish and comes with spikes as shown.
This is an extremely inert platform that does an excellent job of preventing vibrations from reaching your equipment. Great for all types of equipment such as turn tables, amps, pre-amps, sources, etc..
