travertine pavers

i just scored a load of what i think are travertine pavers. they are over 1"thick and measure 24x16, and gorgeous and heavy. im trying to figure out what to make out of them. think ill have about 16 once i liberate them from there present spot. i only have 2 now think ill make some amp stands or something. stack 2 or 3 of them on top of each other with some rubber in between and some feet.
any ideas anyone??? not sure how they isolate but it would be pretty sturdy.

ok so its a lame thread. but im excited about them.lol. they are not pavers but really expensive floor tiles i found out. still need ideas what i should do with them.

I have been using similar under my Dyns for many years. They are about 1 1/8 thick.

yea and 24 x 16. would make a great amps stand for an integrated and maybe even a turntable or cd player with the addition of some rubber feet.. let me know if you want a couple. your not too far away.

Funny, I was going to say use them under speakers. Amp stands perhaps? Are there enough to tile your bathroom? How about a nice little walkway out to the water? Nice stuff.

Under Subs? Also notice a large one under my amp in first pic, de-coupled with Sorbothane squares.

Even though travertine (or is that limestone?) is beautiful, I'd only suggest using if you need to. Don't forget that the surface is hard and reflective, ie sound will reflect off it. So you may induce some reflections that you didn't have before if you're using them arbitrarily.

However if you do need a solid base or platform under speakers or components, then it certainly has some good mass.

Sorry not trying to deter you from using them, just being devil's advocate.

i wrote travertine but im not even sure if they are.lol. they are some sort of marble or granite or maybe limestone . im not one who worries about reflections, my system isnt about being so precise with everything. since each one of these slabs weighs about 75lbs im going to make a 4ft wide rack with them doubled up, and sandwiched with rubber in the middle, and rubber down to the frame of the rack and test to see if 600lbs(8 slabs) can be spanned with no middle brace without bowing the hard sugar maple wood im using. its a test that will take a few months to see the result, but im willing. ive got 10 of the slabs here now. there was a crate of 50 of them but the rest are broke or chipped so i left them behind.
and solid is the key . even though reflective they are so sturdy and heavy they will be a great stable foundation to put tube gear on.
