Mine is on the way. Hopefully, will have it in a week or two. Been using the C-5xeMP for the past four years.

I have a QB9 DSD in my system. It replaced a Berkeley DAC 2 w/ USB. I loved the Berkeley, and the Ayre is just as good. Black background with great detail and imaging. I am just starting to play DSD files with Audirvana and am very happy with it's performance.

I have a CX7e-MP. Am wondering about the improvements/differences over the older models (thinking of going computer based in the future). Please let us know what you hear different over your "5"?

It always nice to hear others like what you already own. It's price point is also so enticing. I encourage others to demo it.

I've been on the waiting list for months to get my QB-9 upgraded. Now my dealer says it will be April or May before I can send it in.

My QB9-DSD is sounding better each day, burning it in. Really nice soundstage. I'll do some A/B testing with my C-5xeMP this week. I also have a pair of Wilson Sasha II's due in about a week, so things may get interesting...

There is a great review of the Ayre QB9-DSD DAC in this months HiFi News. They give it very high marks.

A friend of mine has the Ayre QB9-DSD and loves it.

I agree-it was a lovely addition to my system. I recently ordered an ext. power supply for my Caps3. Curious how it will impact my system. I am intrigued by the new Sotm-1000SQ as a possible upgrade. I can rip cds, , play 32/384 and can get up to 8TB storage or use a NAS and still allow me to use my own DAC.SOtM sMS-1000 SQ Music Server/Player/DAC | Stereophile.com (http://www.stereophile.com/content/sotm-sms-1000-sq-music-serverplayerdac)

I love it! I've not had much luck, with DACs as pre-amp. Not so much "bad luck"; I've just always preferred the sound, offered by an active unit.

But this drives my mAMPS really nicely, in that second system. That being said; I've been thinking lately, I might need to switch-up my configuration...because I want to run a 3-channel video set-up in that room as well.

I'd almost like, to just keep it around...lol. TON of engineering; battery power done right too!
