Turntable shelf - tired of sweet spot footfalls

I have one spot in my music room..just one...that caused my whole table area to sway..no matter how heavy or isolated...Enter the idea people have been pushing me to but I was too stubborn to do..LOL

Well, yes, I did listen. Bought my braces, mounted with 75lb wall anchors..lol..so I don't think she is going anywhere..cant fall far anyway...I like it..NO MORE STEPPING LIGHTLY...Thanks all

Rob...that is the way to do it. If the shelf is deep enough you can still put whatever isolation platform you want underneath the table to prevent airborne sources of vibration :D but footfalls will definitely not impact your tt now. Good job!

Having the shelf mounted on a bearing wall will give really good support and vibration resistance since the foundation or a steel I-beam is right under it.

I had same issues. I built a 200 lb stand to fix it and it worked. Only problem is I think its ugly and I want to replace it with my newer stand im working on ,but I'm worried I will have the same problem. Since its smaller and lighter. If it starts happening again I might have to go the wall shelf route too. Nice job!!!!!!!
