It is truly outstanding how well vintage McIntosh gear stands the test of time. I am the original owner of this beautiful McIntosh MAC 4300V receiver, purchased at full retail of $3000.00 from an authorized McIntosh dealer in Miami, Florida in 1989. I find it remarkable that after 28 years this fine receiver is still performing like it was brand new. Even more surprising is it still looks brand new and I am quite proud of how well I have cared for it all these years.

In the 28 years I have owned this wonderful receiver it has been returned to McIntosh in Binghamton twice, once for an issue with the tuner buttons failing to engage auto tuning, and once again about eight years ago for a power supply recap, an FM tuner realignment, and a full check to make certain the receiver met original factory specifications. Not bad for 28 years of faithful service.

This receiver has powered JBL 4312A speakers for most of its life. For years it was installed under the couch in the Holiday Rambler Presidential travel trailer that provided me comfortable living accommodations on projects all over the United States. It was always a pleasure to come in at night and be able to enjoy my McIntosh and JBL rig.

The specifications are as follows: Power: 100 watts per channel into 4 and 8 ohms, Frequency Response: 20 to 20,000Hz +0 -0.5dB, Distortion at rated output: .02%, Signal to Noise Ratio: 100dBA, Frequency EQ: 30, 150, 500, 1500, 10,000Hz boost or cut 12dB, Output: Direct coupled, Sentry Monitor, and Power Guard protection. The receiver has variable Loudness Compensation. It also comes with the HR4300 remote control and I have the external infrared sensor that allows remote control when the receiver is installed in an enclosed area. The McIntosh MAC 4300V receiver was manufactured from April 1988 through 1993.

This McIntosh MAC 4300V is now performing duty powering my outside elevated deck speakers. I generally listen to the tuner section, although I have the fixed output from the McIntosh C2300 preamplifier in my living room system feeding the CD input on the 4300V. In that manner I can enjoy outside what is being played in the living room if I wish, while at the same time having independent volume control of the outside speakers, or I can listen to the tuner independent of what may be playing in the living room. Works like a champ. After 28 years of solid service my MAC 4300V receiver is still rocking the house.
