Yamaha M-80, First big amp
Starting my audio file hobby on a budget. Purchased a Yamaha m80 power amplifier. I had one of these before that I inherited from my father and I was really impressed. Unfortunately I sold that but now I have another. Just wondering what the consensus was about this amp. Still looking for a good preamp to pair it up with so any suggestions there would be great.

I’ve always been a fan of Yamaha. I’m unfortunately not familiar with that one.

I had a M-80 for many years along with matching tuner and pre-amp. Here is a photo of the unit.

What is your budget for a preamp and what sources will you use for listening?
An older Conrad Johnson preamp used would be a nice match. Adcom on the used market is a good value. Quite a few options actually.
New you might look at the Parasound Classic series. If in your budget I like my Parasound P6.Aurender ACS10 w/Audioquest Diamond USB, Esoteric N05xd
