    Turmoil Returns To Krell

    It’s like a soap opera.

I had a chance to speak with Walter on the phone, we met in person. He was a type A, very driven, very focused, very determined individual. Passionate.

    Re: Turmoil Returns To Krell

At AXPONA Krell was showing a new version of ksa-250 "XD" that they were really proud of and hiping. I personally thought the amp should have had a different name as it's not the same topology as the real ksa250.

In my eyes Krell hasn't fully comeback after losing Dan. Not a good thing to lose a key player, Shofield, as you are beginning to gain momentum. I could be wrong but my prediction is Krell is eventually gone.

The first thing they should do, is hire a better industrial designer.

Say what you want, but the looks is an important part of every hifi product. This is where Krell was lacking in recent years.

Sad. My very first amp was a Krell KSA 250. It was unlike anything I had experienced before. I stayed with Krell through many amp upgrades until the mess with Dan.

You were a very lucky person back then as that amp changed my stereo life when I first heard it. Unfortunately, I could not afford it and spent years hoping one day I could. I agree 100% with your statement of "It was unlike anything I had experienced before." as I was also totally blown away.

Thanks for reminding me of that particular amplifier and timeframe.

I think turmoil has never left Krell since their effective bankruptcy in 2008 and subsequent investor takeover.

    Re: Turmoil Returns To Krell

I've only owned one Krell product, the Foundation 7.1 processor. Krell support for the Foundation 4K upgrade was a shambles. Some Foundation owners who bought the early adopter 4K upgrade waited for up to a year without their processor whilst Krell did the upgrade. Krell lost a lot of customer good will over that.

I'm laughing a bit here... staff turnover is a very common thing in the private sector, especially at the top. Some times its for the better and some times for the worst, just like hiring any new employee any where. This is nothing new fellas, calm down!
