    SPL Amplifiers

Just curious if anyone has any experience with SPL of Germany’s amplifiers. Specifically the M1000’s

They are getting a following and they certainly aren’t a new company , in fact they have a religious following in pro studio mastering equipment.

What’s interesting is they use high voltage rails in all of their equipment and the only other company I know of that builds amplifiers using similar tech is T + A, also out of Germany (?)

Anyway , if anyone has personal experience of their equipment please chime in

    Please and thanks

Have a friend who wants me to order a pair...he's heard the stereo one and enjoyed it. It's a simple circuit too.

Just a big risk as the company is relatively unknown here and resale would be low.

    Re: SPL Amplifiers

More or less mirrors my thoughts but I have google translated several reviews and all are glowing

Not that reviews are the be all...

Again, their pro mastering equipment has been around for a very long time .

What’s missing for me is the average guy on forums like this speaking their mind, good or bad, about the product.

It’s weird that there just isn’t any normal guy info

Never heard of them until recently, but my interest has been tweaked! Not the big monos but the s800 stereo amp that would offer more than enough power for my speakers. Tempted by an Ebay sale in Germany for one at about half list price. Should I take a punt? Peter

Thanks ADCO. I'm in UK so Germany much better. The price (unfortunately in silver finish) is €1950 + 60 P&P - about 3000 CAN. I'm still thinking about it. Prefer black and a bit lower price!

    Re: SPL Amplifiers

I am not familiar with SPL, but if they are using the HV technology, similar to T+A then I would assume they are very good amplifiers. I am very happy with my T+A amplifier!
