Replacing Amp - Where In-Wall Volume Controls are NOT Wired to Speakers

I am trying to replace a 20+ year old Bose amplifier but I noticed that the six in-wall volume controls are NOT in series with their associated speakers. The controllers are wired solely to the amplifier (to slots labelled "Room #X Volume Control").

I am hoping to avoid re-wiring, but I can't find an amplifier on the market that allows for this configuration. Does anyone know if such an amplifier exist today?

    Thank you for your time.
    Albert :-)

Thanks Joe, but the amps you listed don't appear to allow for a "stand-alone" volume controller connection.

That’s my signature, amps that I own. I was not recommending anything yet. I don’t understand what you are using.

    I’m hoping someone else knows.

Roger that Joe. It's a Bose wall mounted amp that was installed in 1996, so I'm fealful this "configuration" is now obsolete.

There might be commercial alternatives that will work. They aren’t expensive but might require a little effort.

Try Niles as they have been in the whole house integration business a long time. If that doesn't work out you may have to call on of the local to you installers and see what they use and recommend.

You may have to find one of the local installers whose been around long enough to remember if there was anything unique about the wiring of those Bose systems and what if anything could be a drop-in replacement. If they are anything like their branded car installations then the wiring schemes will not follow standard conventions.
