    Gryphon Diabolo

    Hi all,

I'm here becasue I'd like to hear about other people's experience with the Diablo 120 and 300. I'm about to audition a Diablo 120. Has anyone listend to the 120 and 300, chosen one over the other and why?
Apologies if this has been answered before.

By all accounts the 120 will probably do it for me, I have a small room, Sonus Faber Cremona Auditor M speakers.

This is a potential replacement for my Naim Nac 52, supercap, nap 250.

I listen almost exclusively to records, but heard the DAC is well worth it.

    Cheers,

The Diablo 300 is great value and the built in Dac is great. I wouldn't say it's better than the Naim 52/SC/250 tho. Unless your speakers are really hard to drive, I would say you would be going down.

In the last year I went from the Diablo 300 to a Naim 552/250 and the Naim was definitely better. IMO

    Re: Gryphon Diabolo

    Thanks Jock.

I hadn't actually considered that a later generation of amp such as the Diablo could still be out classed from my 2000 build NAC 52.

I listen to a lot of different types of music but my love is for electronic music, especially 80s synth. I love the NAC 52 pace and rhythm..it just belts it out. However, but I've been looking for a little more refinement and the question I have is whether I can get both out of the same box.
I auditioned the Pass Labs INT-25, its has a pleasant presentation but vocals sat in the background, for me.

Diablo 120 has just arrived, real curious now.

I loved it. It has bass, power, detail, presence. Brilliant.

Very different from the the Naim gear, and I'm not sure if it has to do with my room, or that the Gryphon suits my speakers better.

    The difference was instantly likable.

I look forward to your remarks about the Kharma when they arrive. When I picked up my Diablo 300 from Mike we discussed a possible speaker change and he thought Kharma might be one of my best options.
