External stereo power amp for Onkyo TX-RZ830 Receiver

    Hi Everyone,

Brand new to the forum, and extremely inexperienced with anything audio. I currently have a Onkyo TX-RZ830 A/C Receiver that can can go up to 11.2 channels if I use a external stereo power amp. The goal is to end up with a 7.2.4 system.

The problem is I can't figure out what amp to get for it. I don't want to have to drop $1000 on a amp if possible when it just needs to run two back surround sound speakers. I currently have two Sony SS-B1000 speakers (not great), but at some point will more than likely move to the SVS Prime Satellite Speakers

I've attached the instructions for how to make the receiver go to 7.2.4 if its helpful.

If someone could help me figure out the least expensive way to do this I would really appreciate it. I'm out of my knowledge base.

    Thanks

Marantz has some stereo and multichannel amps that work well and not very expensive for what you get. NAD has a variety but not sure on pricing.

I like Class D amps with the auto on feature for HT but I'm out of the loop as to what's out there. ATI is typically good but may be more than you want to spend.

    Thank you, Mr. Peabody.

I was looking at the Marantz and the cheapest one I could find was $899 or so. Forgive my complete ignorance, but is there a reason something like the below two products wouldn't work? (Sorry I can't post links to the Amazon page. I haven't posted 10 times yet so the system won't let me.)

I've never heard of the first one, the 2nd one is a receiver in itself and not what you want.

Take a look at the Emotiva website you should find more amps in your range.

If adding just amplification to your existing onkyo you want a "power amplifier".
