Ayon Triton Integrated Question
Does anyone have any experience with the Ayon Triton-1 Integrated amp? How it sounds, reliability, biasing, etc.
My son is thinking about buying one without hearing it. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Other integrated amps that he is considering are the Pass INT-150 and the Pass INT-30A.
Thanks,

Re: Ayon Triton Integrated Question
It is a fine amp but the tubes are driven HARD in that one. If your son doesn't mind keeping up with tubes, it would be a fine choice. I'd personally look into a more affordable alternative such as Prima Luna in which the tubes should last much longer and the PASS integrated are worry and completely hassle free, reliable and steady performance. Tubes do degrade over time with use and have to be kept up with for peak performance.

One can also get the Luxman integrated in that price range. That would be my personal choice but I am biased... LOL

Re: Ayon Triton Integrated Question
Thanks for the suggestions. He wants an amp with about 100wpc and is detailed, has good bass slam and a full midrange that is not bright and fatiguing. However, he might make an exception for the Pass INT-30A whose power is underrated. Supposedly the tubes in the Ayon last about 3000 hours according to the manual. Unfortunately, it is not auto bias and there are 8 tubes. I spoke with Ayon today and they took a trade in on a lightly used Triton Gen 3 and they will sell it for $4750. It is auto bias but sounds different as it uses different tubes. It is more than he wants to spend. I told him that he should wait a year and prices will come down on a used Pass INT-150 or 150.5
