    Audionet STERN & HEISENBERG

After small problems German Audionet rose almost like a Phoenix from the ashes and ... back on the market. And this is a proof - state of the art power pre/power combo - STERN & HEISENBERG

    Re: Audionet STERN & HEISENBERG

lol yes, it is!! audionet and avm, the two german brands i know for a long time but never cared too much about them….so thats why i misschanged them i guess.
Things have changed, i m on audionet fire now.

    CURVA!!!
    so, how are they? happy?
many have said they are the best of the best.

i love the high format design, truly cool. i heard because the us market didnt like it, they made also the flat version for the pre.
what do you think, will the do a high version of the humbolt too?

I am afraid these are above my budget but I just love my AMP's. The are so musical and powerful. I can only imagine how awesome these are. And they look good in black!

The amps are cool and would look great next to your speakers.

But the preamp is just impractical for most people that have their gear not in between the speakers. It would look absolutely ridiculous on top of my rack that has all my turntables, preamp, phono etc and certainly no room for anyone with normal size shelves.

    Re: Audionet STERN & HEISENBERG

Guys, STERN is available in horizontal and vertical orientation, so it's just up to customer. ;-)
The sound of STERN & HEISENBERG set is marvelous and completely different than lower models. We had DNA I,WATT, SAM 20 SE, PRE I G3 + AMP I V2 and every time they tried to put into music their own dose of adrenaline and drive. STERN & HEISENBERG are different - they offer an absolute calm and relaxed sound, but with great resolution and timing. Maybe just out of the box the sound is too soft, but after 40-50h of playing You're in 7-th heaven with them ;-)

    Hi Mike,

I auditioned the Stern preamp and 4 Heisenberg monoblocks on the YG Acoustics Sonja Anniversary XV speakers. The Stern and Heisenberg are true reference components in performance.

And don’t expect much discount off retail due to the U.S. Distributor/Dealer monopoly.

There you go, more components that are completely un-affordable for a vast majority of audiophiles, let alone any average people what so ever.

    Re: Audionet STERN & HEISENBERG

Just posted this in the Humboldt thread regarding my thoughts after having the Stern / Heisenberg on demo for a while.

Take it as read they do detail etc as per other high-end amps, but a few things are standout. First and foremost is the low noise floor, which I suspect is a big driver of the other aspects that are noteworthy, namely sound-staging and jump-factor.
Soundstaging is about the best I've heard, not only in front to back and width, but in the air and defined space around each instrument / voice etc.
The jump factor is what keeps me engaged in the music and is why I prefer them to CH etc. The dynamics are incredible, and suspect the outright power available is also a factor in terms of outright grip.
Tonally these are the best SS amps I've heard, to the point where you may not pick them as SS in blind testing.
The final aspect which is noteworthy is how unstressed these amps sound. You can listen full-on for long periods with no stress, strain or fatigue, even on music and instruments you'd normally expect to, e.g. piano.

One observation - I think the Heisenbergs are the star of the show here. The Stern pre is good (arguably better than a CH L1), but think the power amps make the pairing world-class.

Wow. Ever compare them other Swiss brands? Such as Soulution? If you want , can you share other details of your system? For example; speakers and source?

Yes - I've spent quite a bit of time with CH. The L1 is stunning, both with and without the X1 - great flow alongside precision, detail etc. The Stern beats a bare L1 for me on soundstage - more around the defined spacing of voices instruments etc. Adding the X1 to the L1 eclipses the Stern as it adds that spacing.
The power amps are good, but not exceptional IMHO, especially for the price. They do not bring enough drama into the music for me.
I don't get the digital side of CH, but others do, and this is a thread on amps.
I've heard Soulution briefly in my system and liked what it did. If I'd had a dealer closer by, I would have explored it more. I tried the 5 series pre, power and DAC and thought was great - had that sense of drama.

Heihei, could you please elaborate on those two posts of yours, they kind of state opposite things. Did you at the end like the new Audionet sound signature or not?

Thanks for the clarification. I conclude you really liked the Stern Heisenberg combo, even preferred it to CH Precision?

Just asking, as that is a strong positive statement.

nearly all hifi-magazine stated the heisenberg&stern to be theyr prefered ones over anything like the best of soloution, pass, dag, soloution, ch, goldmund etc.,......breuninger vom av-showrooms (lol) says 15%better than anything.

if that all is just marketing who knows

    Audionet STERN & HEISENBERG

I think the comment was that heihei preferred the Stern/ Heisenberg to CH Precision, which I understand. Being very neutral, those can sound somewhat lean.

Reviewers comments are also just one personal opinion. IMHO Breuninger is trying a bit too hard.

Yes I prefer the Stern / Heisenberg to the CH L1/X1 M1.1 monos. It's not the neutrality that concerns me with the CH, it's a lack of dynamics compared to the Audionet. Even at lower volumes, the Audionet has a certain weight to it that means that any listening session is an event, whilst the CH can become background music. I would add that this dynamic element never becomes tiring, as the Audionet has no discernible grain, even when pushed hard on piano, high-pitched female vocals etc.

I’ve also listened to both and I preferred the Stern/Heisenberg by a substantial margin.

The Stern and Heidelberg have significantly more weight and density then their previous products. In short, they sound like an entirely different animal.

Earlier Audionets were very high resolution, but sounded aggressive. The latest generation really changed the house sound.

    Hoping to try Riviera.

Yes a lot of deep grunt, to the point where my wife commented on it, as the sofa was shaking!

I can confirm what you state, 15 years back in time I had the Audionet VIP player and the Audionet MAP V2 pre-processor with the external Power Supply EPS. The sound was very clear and high resolution but I did not like the pairing with the mono blocks, I preferred to stick to my Classé CAM 350 for the front and the CAV 180 for the surround channels.

I am happy that they made the turn-around as I really like the brand and Mr. Gessler is a really funny guy... Audionet STERN & HEISENBERG

I would like to hear the new amps in my system but even in Germany it’s not easy to find a dealer.

    Re: Audionet STERN & HEISENBERG

the new owner, i was in contact with him the last two month very often.
beside i do really really like him as a person, this man has all abilities very well balanced to be a competive and respectful chairman of audionet. i would put my hands in fire for him! (german expression).
cash, products, facilities and topworkers are there now, the books are full of orders.....they are there, dont worry, audionet is back on track whatever happened before

    Re: Audionet STERN & HEISENBERG

They’re actually better now. The new amps are in a different league.

Guys, thank you for all the very nice things said here. We can't emphasize strongly enough that our incoming orders last month far surpassed those of the venerable company of Boeing (their's were zero, gotta admit that) so yes, our machines are back with a vengeance and flying strongly. Expect a vinyl experience even above our beloved PAM for the High End 2020. See you in Munich. If you're in Germany, come around to hear Heisenberg & Co. at our HQ in Berlin and in our Showrooms West and North. Aloha! Very audiophile greetings from all of us
